I stayed there for a total of 6 nights and would not recommend it. The rooms were tiny! I have stayed in hostels before so I had an idea what to expect but these rooms were far too small. The staff in this hostel were on the whole, VERY unhelpful and unwelcoming, they seemed very disinterested in answering your queries and inconvenienced if they had to tear themselves away from facebook to acknowledge your presence. We had a bad experience as soon as we arrived at the hostel. There was no power in the reception area, so we were made to wait around 90mins to check in until the only guy who could fix it managed to arrive. Turns out that all he had to do was flip a switch on the fuse board, a... more
They overbooked by 50 people. Staff said they had known for 24 hours and didn't feel like calling to tell us we had no place to sleep. They told us to go back on the streets. Staff was HORRIBLE--they didn’t refund our deposit or help us find other accommodations. more
the service that we got wat a bit hit and miss, only one member of staff was helpful and the others were really stand offish. the room was horrible it smelt from all the other people the floor was dirty and the beds were not be be slept on lol. it was really close to central park which was nice... more
Had booked a Female only dorm months in advance but when I arrived they could only put me in a mixed dorm. The lights did not work at all in the bathroom or shower room and looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years. Some shower curtains were missing and there was no shelving to put anything on. Perfect! Near Central Park and the subway station, alive jazz on the lobby some evenings, great breakfast, very charming building, nice staff, clean rooms. All that for hostel price. And in NY! Amazing... more
