Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great location. Good property. Common area needs work. Staff unfriendly. Room was comfortable and very large - rented the “duplex” room which had lots of light and space. Fitness center was closed. Breakfast is very limited. I would Stay at the Iroquois next door instead.

Horrible experience! I made my reservation through booking.com. When I got there and checked in I realized they gave me a lower segment room than I paid. I paid for a city view and 2 big beds, however, they gave me no view no WINDOW and one small bed and one sofa. When I got back and told that the situation the front desk “Jilal” acted meanly and stated since I made my reservation through booking.com they couldn't give me a better room and it is NOT THEIR PROBLEM. THEY ONLY HAVE THIS ROOM. if i have problem i should call booking.com not talk with him. It was so mean, definitely not helpful and weird situation and staff. Overall, very bad accommodation. if you make your reservation through 3rd party they give you the worst room then never change or refund. Also 3rd party doesnt refund or help. If i could give 0 stars i would.

The staff Jay is super nice. He freely upgraded us to a bigger room. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. The light is enough and no smoke smell. Also, Breakfast is included. The hotel quite near the Times Square. We will come again next time.

If the hotel advertised itself as a discount hotel, I would understand the stained and dirty rugs, the crumbling and uneven cheap linoleum floor in the bathroom, the yellowed and peeling wallpaper. But it is as expensive as much better hotels, literally next door. Worse, the staff were rude and unhelpful when I heard other guests complaining and demanding a refund.

I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel on W 44th St and the City Club looked like it would work for me. It's really great, especially for a solo traveler. Clean, nice rooms, a common area where you can use a computer or get a snack, nice front desk staff members who were polite and efficient. While the room had everything I desired (nice TV, hot powerful shower, enough cabinets to stay organized) it was pretty darned small. Basically enough room to maneuver around the twin-bed, and not much more. But, based on how much time i spent in the room, that wasn't an issue. It might have been if I had my wife along with me. Two minor issues: the bed is pretty short (not a queen or king) and it "sheeted" so that it's hard to get all the way under the covers. Trust me. I had to sleep diagonally, and it was not great. Second, the breakfast is pretty minimal. Def a "continental" breakfast, but adequate. I think they could be a little more creative. I would absolutely stay there again.

The next time I go I'll be bringing my girlfriend. This was a business trip, so I was solo. She was jealous when I showed her photos of the room and it's amenities. The hotel was very close wo there we had our meeting 2 doors down. It was perfect for me.

Im a reporter with the German daily News I would like to know why a old fashion hotel has these types of issues 😕😔 with the amount of guess in and out of it they gave me a really tacky room toilet 🚽🪠 was screwed up from the gate big hole 🕳️ in the bathroom 😭 omg too many issues with this location I really like the place but after this not to much usually when I go to a hotel I'm not supposed to be a plumber. I'm not supposed to be an exterminator. I'm not supposed to be electrician either. There I go being all three of them Mack11media on IG has the full video of you want to see the water Bug it was bigger than a 50 cent piece
