The location is fantastic. The views are mindblowing. The staff are arrogant and snooty and the breakfast was some croissant with condiments. Stay here for the location, but for nothing else. more

For those who like staying in midtown and close to the park, location can´t be beat. Service is exquisite, their restaurant is incredible, the central park room views are to die for, but not for US$1200 a night. Of course the room is very beautiful, comfortable, with a huge bed and free amenities, marble bathroom and super shower, but for... more

Right on Central Park - beautiful view of park. Service is spectacular. They didn't have the type of bagel I wanted for breakfast, so they went over to Whole Foods and bought it for me. more

Excellent in all respects with the exception of the extra charge for the internet and the exorbitant charge of $16 for a bowel of cornflakes at breakfast though this did include the milk and a fruit garnish. In spite of my grumpy old man gripes the staff were great, the room comfortable and well appointed, and the breakfast great (a... more

Elegant and plush hotel. Tall building and I believe the lounge is on the 35th floor. Sterile entry and security approaches immediately. You can't get to the elevator unless you have a key. Nice restaurant..very unaffordable. In other words, nice but overpriced. Great views. Room was clean, decent size, floor to ceiling windows, comfortable bed and clean shower. Flat screen... more

We stayed at the mandarin oriental in New York for 3 nights in October of 2009. It was for both business and pleasure as I had a meeting but my partner just enjoyed the city. The hotel is beautiful with spectacular views. Rooms were spacious for New York and service was good but not overly intrusive. The lobby bar always... more

This was our first time in NYC and we wanted a great hotel. I think we got it. I wasn't 100% happy because I've stayed at a Mandarin Oriental before (in Hong Kong), and the service and quality of room just weren't as great as the HK experience. Whilst I can accept that the different locations can explain the different... more

I love MO NYC. I like the location. I lile the look. I like the feel. I love the spa. The Gentlemen's wet rooms are very seductive. Asiate's views and cuisine provide the best lunch spot in NYC. The service in all areas of the hotel is the best in US. Many of the staff are alum of my previous... more

This is probably the freshest/ cleanest feeling luxury hotel in Manhattan. Since NYC can be so gritty we really appreciate that about the Mandarin. The service is definitely not as warm as others we have stayed at but certainly efficient. We did have a problem every day reaching the concierge from the outside, though. The rooms are very nicely appointed... more
