Great traveling alone I highly recommend to do some time NYC alone, visiting all you want and you can take your time. Personally what I liked the most was taking all my time staying on museums wich is what i liked the most, also relaxing and listening music on Central PArk, walking all around by my self was great but... more

Upon arrival we immediately had to mount a couple of small stairs with our luggage (everyone does, there are no rooms on the ground floor and no elevator). The rooms are men/women/ mixed. Our supposedly all female room has a guy in it which was a surprise. The male rooms contained up to 6 beds and had some weird 70+... more

Hello! Unfortunately most hostels do not have an elevator but the staff is always willing to give a helping hand in carrying luggage up the stairs. Also we do have luggage storage in the lobby. Typically bags fit very nicely under the beds as well. We do not have any full-time residents in the hostel. Our policy is that you...

Great value, but the rooms are far too hot. Reception said there was nothing they could do about it: it seems heat is either on or off! Reception seemed to be manned by students. I and many of the group we took came back with nasty bites from bed mites. Breakfast was ok - at least there's a Subway over... more

Hello, We have AC in the summer months when it is unbearably hot but we take them out in the fall when the weather tends to be a bit colder. If you thought you had been bitten by something in your room you should have let the staff know so we could investigate. We tend to not have problems with...

We arived late on a Saturday planning to catch a train to Boston from Penn Station the next morning. The Hostel is only 2 minutes from Penn and is a great option for transit accommodation. Our private ensuite room was very clean and a free continental breakfast was included. The outside noise (traffic and people) was obvious but we were... more

This was a great place to stay in New York. Staff were very helpful and the location between MIdtown and Chelsea was great. Free (small) breakfast was a bonus as was the roof top garden. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm that was comfortable and had an ensuite bathroom which is rare in hostels. more

I had to come to ny urgently and had to book this place online. It was considerably cheap. One thing is that its a great location close proximity to most places. But its dingy. The staff is pretty good and helpful but I did not like the hotel. Its like a typical hostel.Rooms are small and not too great.I don't think I would go... more

Travelled around the U.S for a month and stayed the first and last night here, loved the place on both occasions! The location is excellent, just a couple of blocks from Penn Station/Port Authority bus station. Nice room, clean bathroom and comfy bed. Amazing atmosphere - on both occasions I ended up going out with the people from my room.... more

My stay at the Manhattan Inn Hostel lasted five nights. At first I thought I would stay in a four-bed room but when I got there all they had for me was a six-bed room with private bathroom. Well, no problem since that’s the spirit of a hostel: cheaper accommodation and rooms with different people, coming and going almost every... more

Hello, Thank you for your review. We take these reviews into consideration and are constantly trying to improve our hostel. An example of this would the the common area. Unfortunately, in New York, space is very limited and it would be impossible to make our kitchen any larger. We are converting an old room into another common room however, in...

I'm trying not to be too harsh on this review because this accommodation was cheaper than most and was also in the perfect proximity to Penn Station. Therefore it gets top marks for these two issues. The staff I encountered were pleasant too. However on the downside, the rooms were TINY and also quite hot. Even with the air conditioner... more

Hello, Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear you did not have a great experience. We would like to take the time to respond to some of your complaints. We do have air conditioning in the summer when the heat is too much to handle. If your air conditioner was not functioning you could have gone to...

The location of the hostel is fantastic but it's not worth it when considering the behaviour of the staff. I stayed here for three nights and had two unpleasant experiences with staff. One occurred when a member of staff (who claimed to be the owner's son) came clubbing with us, though he was not invited to come along with us.... more
