I always read this site before choosing a place to stay, so I was advised about this place. But it is worst than I expected. We booked this hotel only because we had no other option to choose, just 2 weeks in advance. The price is very atractive, so, it's perfect for budget travellers. I always stay in budget acomodation... more

If you are looking for a decent place to sleep at night, great location near subway and cheaper than other hotels; this is the one. Only one thing: needs to be cleaner. At least put the garbage out the room... more

There's nothing wrong with staying here, but you have to do without some comforts - like a curtain for the window, blinds that reach the bottom of the window, facecloths or hand towels for the bathroom or a hair dryer. There's no front desk, so if you have problems with your room, you're kind of out of luck. (You're given... more

Location was fantastic, room was clean, perfect if you're looking for affordable, lock-up-and-go type holiday. Only downside was that it was quite noisy at night (no double glazing). This is minor however. All in all - we'll come again! more

Hotel 309 is a great deal as far as price and location, however, do not expect luxury accommodations. The accommodations are more hostel or dorm-style than hotel style, although our room did have it's own bathroom. In an ideal world, the hotel should be rennovated top to bottom for modernization. Regardless, the location cannot be beat - near the Village... more

I've had many trips to NYC (this is my 3rd in 5 months) and have experienced many budget Hotels. This Hotel would have to go down in the history books as the biggest dump I've ever had the misfortune of staying in. The guy that seems to run the place is seedy, arrogant, rude and obnoxious. Wouldn't recommend it to... more

All the bad words & reviews for this palce are the absolute truth. No one is ever around when you need them and could not speak English. I have stayed in better Hostels than this. The toilets had faeces smeared on the wall and the doors on the shower dont even lock properly and you have to take your own... more

I have stayed in many places as I have traveled to NYC a lot to visit my kids attending university! I am somewhat shocked to read some of the negative reviews because our experience was fantastic. We stayed in a newly remodeled room with a private bath. The tub was older but clean and the bed was clean and comfortable.... more

This place provides lots of fun and a real sense of being in New York. The location is great and our room was spatious, with a private bathroom, kitchenette, tv, airconditioning .. The comments about the hotel not being a 'real' hotel are correct, it's more like an apartmentbuilding. Some of the rooms are for hotelguests, some have permanent residents.... more
