I stayed here for one night recently because my sister got married in Central Park. The hotel let us check in early so that we could have time to prepare for the wedding. They were also able to give us all of our rooms on the same floor. The room was very clean, comfortable, and had great views of the... more

It's right opposite Fairways on Broadway, where you can buy breakfast and eat in the evening. The room was divided into a sleeping and living area with a tiny kitchen with a fridge and gas cooker. (It was probably two rooms in the past.) They had to fix the gas cooker for us, so they gave us a bottle of... more

I guess I missed the fine print somewhere; you have to pay $9.95 a day to access the internet. The other hotel I was considering for an 8 night business trip offered free internet. Plus they did renovate the rooms, but the bathroom is a joke; the door hits the toilet when you try to open it so they carved... more

I stayed for 8 nights at Hotel Beacon last month. I chose it based on high ratings with Trip Advisor and also recommendations from two different friends. It was great, an absolute gem on the Upper West Side. I don't like to eat out often when I travel alone, so I loved having a little kitchenette -- and right across... more

We arrived in New York on a wet night in late April 2009 after a long flight from Melbourne Australia and approached the front desk of the Beacon with some trpidation; afterall we had read all the horror stories about hotel rooms in New York. But WOW what a surprise; we were greeted by a cheerful receptionist who quickly organised... more

Stayed at the Beacon for six nights to attend my daughter's graduation from Columbia Law. It was everything the positive reviews have claimed, and more. Our king size bed was incredibly comfortable, which I really appreciated. Having a kitchenette was a huge plus. And the location was perfect; we were able to walk to lots of midtown sights, while enjoying... more

The Beacon is in a residential area in the Upper West Side, surrounded by tree-lined streets, shops and great restaurants. We stayed in a 1 bedroom newly renovated suite and were impressed with the size, especially the lounge room and not 1 , but 2 closets, so we had 1 each for our clothes. We also had a fully equipped... more

I've been here two times and love everything about the Beacon. It feels like a true NYC hotel, with its old elevators, some residents and their dogs, and a location that can't be beat. The fully equipped kitchen is a bonus and their recent renovations are tasteful, on par with the latest look in small luxury hotels. My only minor... more

We loved this hotel. The location is FANTASTIC, just across the road from a market, close to subway, walking distance from Central Park. The room itself can only be classified as a "suite", we had 3 closets (one fit all 5 of our suitcases) a bedroom, small lounge and kitchen. Kitchen could have had more utensils and crockery but that... more
