The location is very good, the park across the street charming, but the rooms are damp, stinky, and dirty. For $150 a night you should at least have clean towels and AC. Even the pillows and the mattresses stink because hundreds of guests before you sweated in the same cell. Don't expect to be able to buy coffee or water... More

Yes, the rooms are small and everything in them is rather old (eg when did you last watch a cathode ray TV?.)..nothing like those in an upmarket hotel, but I found mine to be clean, with a comfortable bed, a fridge and a microwave, enabling me to self cater. The rooms are serviced daily, though I did notice that a... More

For the value for money we weren't expecting the best but I would not even leave my catin this place. Nothing was clean, we didn't feel our possessions or ourselves were safe. Don't let the outside or surroundings fool you, inside it is old, smells dank and was filthy. I felt unclean just looking at the bedroom. I'm usually fairly... More

The Riverside Tower is a hotel with a specific purpose in life. If you're on a budget and want to spend time seeing Manhattan and now hanging around the hotel, then this is the place. The rates are almost unheard of in the City. You get basic accommodations (it was once a dorm for Columbia University), a comfortable bed and... More

I have stayed here before and know the room is extremely small. This time I was on a higher floor and you could feel the breeze coming through and hear the traffic and dogs barking like they were on the other side of the pane. No way to adjust temp of room. Never in my life have I needed to... More

My fiance and I stayed here for a week while in new york city and this was one of the cheaper hotels and it was in a nice quiet area. You get what you pay for pretty much at this hotel, the rooms were very small but it had a good microwave and mini fridge. It was cleaned well daily... More

I have stayed at this hotel several times now. For the money, you can't beat it. Where else can you get a suite with two rooms and the ability to sleep four people in Manhattan for $150 a night. This trip was with my wife and two kids (11 and 8). The full size bed was a bit tight for... More
