My stay at Hotel Stanford was great! The location couldn't be better with Empire State Building and Macy's around the corner and right next to a subway station (34th Street-Herald Square) with great connections both Uptown and Downtown. My standard double room on the 8th floor was clean and comfortable, altough it would probably have been a bit small if... More

Hotel Stanford is a must for anyone wanting to see New York. Within walking distance to all the tourist hotspots! Was recommended to stay here. Staff I found very awkward, felt more of a nuisance at times rather than a guest! Ideal for sight seeing! Do not let my experience put you off from staying here!

No, that's not a typo. Although I should perhaps starting saying that this hotel is located in the very heart of Manhattan, within a pleasant walk away from Time's Square and Soho at opposite ends (and further, if you have the legs for it), as well as on Korea street, which means there are great Korean restaurants next to and... I stayed here with my mum and son in April, 2013, and we had booked a double double room for the 3 of us. However upon arrival we discovered that the room was very small indeed, and the window, a half sized window at that, was opening onto a wall view. We spoke to reception and decided to upgrade to... This hotel is a good deal for its location. Staff was friendly and hotel was clean. Heating system is an issue - one thermostat controls the whole floor - even though there is one in your room, it doesn't really do anything. Was 85 in our room when we checked in, turned it all the way down to 60, and... More

I would recommend this hotel highly. We stayed here for a week; the service was excellent (if we needed anything we got immediate response), and everything was clean--lobby, halls, room, and elevator. The location is excellent; steps away from subway, three blocks from Penn Station. MANY restaurants within a few blocks. We would stay here again.

Let's face it, there are much better hotels than this one, but it's all about price/quality. And on that matter it is perfectly fine to base yourself here. Breakfast is ok, though nothing special. It gets you started. Room is clean and comfortable enough, though even at freezing temperatures it gets too warm inside. Windows definately can be opened, so... More

Awesome location! Close to restaurants especially Asian. Rooms are honestly bit dirty but staying in NYC under $200 is rare. Edpecially free breakfast isnt the most delicious but edible. I recommend to those who are budget sensitive and dont mind little shoddy bed

Stayed at the Stanford with a friend in December 2012 to do some Christmas shopping, we wanted a cheap hotel that was close to the action of Manhattan and we were not disappointed. We were greeted pleasantly when we arrived and got our room straight away - twin room on the 4th floor. The room itself was well presented, clean... More

What a great place - absurdly cheap, which usually sets off warning bells in a NYC hotel, but the combo of comfortable, recently renovated rooms, free wi-fi, helpful front desk staff, and quiet, boutique-hotel setting in the midst of Koreatown is fantastic. And the location, just to the south of Herald Square, means you're incredibly close to shopping, Empire State... More
