If you want to go to New York and have your heart set on staying at the Belvedere, don't go in the summer. After the power went out (twice) while blow drying my hair, I was instructed by the operator to not have the air conditioning on while blow drying my hair. Clearly this happens all the time. I'm sure... more

Great location walking distance of Broadway, Times square and central park, several breakfast diners nearby, the subway is 2 blocks away we had a 7 day pass ($25) and it was great got us everywhere even went to Coney Island which is worth the visit if you have time and try Nathans hot dogs. I highly recommend Ellens Stardust diner... more

We stayed at the Belvedere a while ago though my family and I found it a great place to stay. In NYC there's quite a few things to see so the hotel's a great place to stay just for the night. From the time we walked in the the friendly doorman hurried to assist us in carrying our bags inside,... more

The hotel was very convenient to Times Square, but that was pretty much the extent of what I liked about this hotel. The lobby was nice too, but the rooms were very standard and somewhat old. The hallways were hot, as were the elevators. The a/c window unit in the rooms were a pain, because the curtains covered it up.... more

We've now stayed at 3 similarly priced hotels within 2 blocks of Times Square and the Belvedere was easily the best. It's basics at their best -- very good location on 8thand W48th, decent sized and comfortable rooms, very friendly and helpful staff. The only drawbacks were the 2 slow elevators (but there's a service elevator that no one seems... more

This was our first time to New York City and was concerned with finding a hotel that wasn't too expensive but provided quality rooms and service. The Belevedere provided both of these. It is a wonderful hotel on a quiet street just two blocks from Time Square. The location was perfect. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We stayed... more

The hotel has a great location. Walking distances to the Central Park, Broadway, restaurants. The concierge´s services were VERY helpful for restaurant´s reservations (they got us a table on Babbo´s for Mother´s Day evening, in a very short notice from us!). We looked at the reviews for this hotel before booking in, and most peaple complain about the elevators (slow).... more

This was our third trip to NYC and we know that hotels can be hit or miss, but the whole point of going to New York City is NOT to be in the hotel room that much. Plus, hotel rates have skyrocketed -- the cost of a room at the boutique hotel we stayed in seven years ago has risen... more

Hotel was quaint, clean, and convenient for everything we wanted to do/see! Also from what I understand of hotel rooms in NYC, this room was very nicely sized. Would definitely stay again. more

We stayed at The Belvedere for 5 nights in June 2008. I did a lot of research for hotels as they are quite expensive in New York. However, The Belvedere was in the mid-price range and had decent reviews compared to some of the others out there. We were impressed from the moment we pulled up. The Bellmen were wonderful... more
