I stayed at the Royalton for four nights in late October. I found all of the staff very welcoming, pro-active, friendly and accommodating with the exception of one clearly bored employee. The concierge is extremely helpful. She not only recommended a great Broadway show, she managed to get an extra ticket at very late notice. She also found a town... more

Just returned from a 5 day trip to New York staying at the Royalton Hotel. Firstly the location of this hotel is fantastic a very short walk from the hub of Times Square, Broadway and 5th Avenue, brilliant. Like other reviewers however I found the dark and somewhat dingy interior of the hotel rather depressing and souless. A great place... more

Great location in Midtown Manhattan. Staff was friendly. We were wowed by the lobby ambiance. The experience was not so good once we made it to our room. Our Superior Double was beautiful (expected), small (somewhat expected), and completely impractical (not expected). There were no drawers for clothes. The bathroom lighting was dark enough that my daughter and wife had... more

We stayed for 5 nts in October and first impressions were good. The lobby is very dark but it does create a lovely atmosphere around the bar area. Our room was compact & on further inspection it appeared we had the smallest room on the top floor. However we didn't anticipate spending a lot of time there so it wasn't... more

As the other reviews say; location is great and probably the hotel's best asset. It's on the same street as the Sofitel and Algonquin so it's one of the best places to stay in the middle of Manhattan. 5th Avenue is on one side. Times Sq the other. If you like walking, it's a few blocks from everything of interest.... more

Dear AnotherUnitedKingdom, Thank you for attentive review. I feel that it is fair and though you said that you will not, I do wish you give us another try. Maybe second time's the charm? Let me know. Jaymes

Location was good, rooms were a good size, very clean although a little sparse. The bathroom was luxurious and very modern. The lobby was dark at commented in other reviews but this didn't detract from the ambiance of the hotel. Saying that however, the prices at the lobby bar did which clearly put other customers off as it always appeared... more

I'v ebeen staying at this hotel since it opened and I'm biased because I like it. Having said that this is my first visit since the refurbishment so I thought it worth a review. First a general description. This is a hip happening boutique hotel in mid-town. It's not a stunning location for the new Tribeca, Chelsea, south Manhattan revival.... more

My friend and I have gone to NYC and stayed in midtown 3 times - we liked the Royalton hotel the least. I had read the reviews on Trip Advisor before going, so I was surprised to find so many flaws with the hotel (that might also explain why I'm giving it a negative review..we had high expectations). Where to... more

Stayed in a loft suit and got a good deal on it. Room was really nice - a little plain, but the bathroom was great. I didnt find it too dark at all - i thought it had a great atmosphere. Staff in general were friendly and attentive. Location is excellent. The only thing that was a little disappointing was... more

Rosie34 - we appreciate your review! I am sad that you feel that our cocktails were not worth it. Say this - keep us in mind when you are in town - even if you do not stay with us (though, I am not sure why not - I'm only kidding... or not) - stop by and have the our...

We stayed at the Royalton on a weekend visit and knew that it was going to be a fairly "hip" hotel. The lobby is dark and the check-in desk seems kind of hidden. The lobby is a bar/night club, with many beautiful people and a DJ. First ,the good: The room was huge, particularly by NYC standards. We believe the... more
