We stayed at the Wellington Hotel as part of a short break package deal. There was a choice of three hotels but you could request which you stayed at if you booked early enough. After a bit of internet research we chose the Wellington and (after seeing the other two once we got there) were really pleased that we did.... more

Like many others on here, it was my first time to New York and I read many reviews of NY hotels before finally selecting the Wellington. It is true the rooms are a little dated, small bathroom, but the price was the most reasonable of all. We had breakfast every morning in Central Park as it's just up the street... more

I booked two Queen rooms for 3 nights midweek in Sept and had both confirmation #'s in hand when we arrived at 6:35pm. Agent told us they had no Queen rooms, so they kindly upgraded us to a newly renovated Mini suite on the 26th floor (great view) but had to downgrade my daughter's room to a twin. They did... more

I booked a night at the Wellington through priceline (named my own price) after having stayed in a hell-hole the night before (the St Marks Hotel), so after that experience, this place felt like paradise!! First of all, the size of the rooms for the price was a pleasant surprise-- in New York, most hotels in this price range are... more

We stayed 12 nights at The Wellington and have re-booked for another 12 nights next February. Coming from Australia to get married, I was a bit disapointed (and worried) when this was the hotel selected for us on Priceline. However, the staff were great and although the interior is a bit dated, our overall experience was a very good one.... more

Excellent location, if you want to be in the Carnegie Hall area for a fairly reasonable price. But compare rates and amenities before booking. The Wellington could use a facelife (small, tired rooms and shabby common areas), and it's not the cleanest place I've ever stayed. You are obliged to check in with the cashier before checking out. But my... more

We spent four nights at The Wellington and despite its well worn and shaby appearance it was an excellent place to stay for our first visit to NY. We couldn't have picked a better location, a few hundred yards from Central Park and the same fromTimes Square. We ate out - Ben Ash deli for breakfast and several delis just... more

I was looking for a convenient hotel for my 1st visit to NYC for my wife's 60th birthday. Looking for a 4 night stay with handy location for typical tourist sightseeing. We were not disappointed with the location which was as everyone says 'right on the doorstep' for most everything. Subway on the corner and a busy bustling diner pretty... more

I stayed here during Labor Day weekend in 2007 as well as this year. The reason why I keep coming back is hotel's location. It is located between Central Park and Times Square. It's less than 10-min walk to both. Furhermore, there is subway stop right next to the hotel. Hotel was moderately priced for NYC which is, in my... more
