Like Lizzen said, the bed was "unsleepably hard." No back support whatsoever, and it felt like sleeping on top of a pile of laundry. Every morning, I woke up with a horrible backache--not a good way to spend sightseeing NYC! The bed is so terrible, you're better off sleeping on the floor. Other than that, the hotel was fine. I... more

Stayed at the Exchange for a conference (booked for me by organizers). Location is good for financial district, but it was like someone was trying to create a trendy, boutique hotel and ran out of money. Platform beds (no box springs) had six-inch mattresses, so the net effect was like sleeping on concrete. Front desk had no solutions to this.... more

Everything about this hotel was terrible. The windows did not close or lock and there was construction outside of the windows. It felt completely unsafe. Dealing with the people at the front desk, specifically Iryna, was an awful experience. They claimed they would change our rooms, but then without actually attempting to reach us, told us that it was too... more

I made a reservation for 3 rooms (myself and two co-workers) at the Exchange Hotel and was contacted the afternoon of my reservation and was informed that their we're only two rooms available. After a rather rude conversation with the hotel representative I went to search for a third room at another hotel. Manhattan isn't the easiest place to find... more

A bit difficult to find! The seafront close by offered great eating places. Close to metro. Rooms airy and clean. Staff friendly and attentive. more

Who hires the front desk staff? They were rude and unaccommodating. I waited 45 minutes to check in and a full hour to check out. There was no assistance provided for transportation. The telephone in the room did not have a front desk extension. The internet was down during my entire stay. How long does it take to fix internet?... more

Great location, close to the subway and one block from the free downtown connector bus. Got a great rate and free upgrade to a full suite. Large suite with a full kitchen. Free computer access and they let us print to the main printer when the other one had issues. Clean, nice, and very good access to downtown attractions. We... more

The hotel looks nice, was clean and met all of the basic needs and even had a good amount of square footage, small fridge (with minibar stuff but you could put leftovers or snacks) and a microwave; however, for a weekend stay, the financial district is too far south. The staff was aloof. They put me in a room right... more

I got a great last minute deal on a room at the Exchange Hotel. I stayed only one night on business, but was very impressed with the customer service, decor, comfort level and amenities provided by the hotel. The room was enormous by NYC standards, and everything was very clean and new looking. The location is convenient to the financial district... more
