We stayed for one night, a last-minute booking after a medical crisis. The hotel is well situated just off Madison in mid-town, just a couple of blocks from Grand Central. It is huge and historical (about 1924), well-refurbished with an amazing period lobby (you have to climb stairs to get to it, though there are elevators at the side). A comfortable... More

We stayed at the Roosevelt for a long weekend this March. It was our first famly trip to Manhattan and we had a wonderful time. The hotel was walking distance to all the things we wanted to do midtown (museums, Times square, Broadway etc). Our room was clean and comfortable. It wasn't huge, but we didn't come to NYC to... Yes it's New York City and yes it is centrally located and yes it's a historic hotel. Ok, now you have heard all the good things about this hotel. We're staying here for 2 nights with another couple. I dropped my wife n here friend off to checkin at 3pm and we went to return rental car. They were told... More

I needed to stay in a midtown hotel near the offices I was planning on meeting over a 5 day period. In order to get to the check in desk, you need to carry your luggage up about 20 stairs. The check-in personnel was nice and handled my check-in well enough. However, upon arriving in the room, there was a... More

Great, if not near perfect location, right in the heart of Manhattan. The hotel is modern and inviting, the lobby is outstanding and I believe has been used in many movies (most recently The Dictator). Rooms are adequately sized, clean, and modern. Service is very good, but expected in New York. Probably more suited to a couple, rather than a... More

Depends on what you want from a trip, then you can state what to expect from such kind of hotel. I would not recommend it for business travel, the internet connection is pretty expensive, the room is quite noisy because of the air conditioner. However, if you are in Manhattan to walk, sightsee, visit then this is the place to... More

Visited with a tour party from the UK. I had already read the pretty negative reviews on TA so I was already "on my guard". I had also done my research to find two nearby restaurants that appealed to me, which were; Arabesque at 4 East 36 Street and Keen's Steakhouse a little further on but actually at 72 West... More

Me and my boyfriend arrived at The Roosevelt on Saturday 29th April for a 5 night stay after visiting Toronto and the Niagara Falls. I have to admit I was a little bit sceptical after reading several of the reviews on here but needn't have worried as the hotel was perfect and everything we could have hoped for! Upon arrival... I stayed here for one night for work. This particular night, all of my usual hotels were extremely expensive, even by New York standards, but I was able to get a decent (but still over $300/night) rate here in the location I needed. LOCATION: The location cannot be beat if you need to be in Midtown East. You're walking distance... More

A very disappointing 3 night stay. Miserable, unhelpful and actually quite rude staff who have no concept of customer service. Tired rooms with peeling wallpaper and so small and cramped that you couldn’t actually open the very limited storage space of the bedside cabinet as it was blocked but a random chair (no desk/table to speak of). Cracked bathroom tiles... More
