First thing first about this hotel. The checkin is and always is, HORRIBLE! We have had three stays here and not once have we got into a room early, that we asked for weeks in advance and which they said they would try to accomodate. But it never happened. Generally speaking if you get a GREAT rate go ahead and book. On the positive side Great Location; grand old fashion lobby; rooms are clean and roomy for NY standard. We stayed in SOHO for 2 nights earlier and paid half the price at the Hampton Inn. They had free breakfast, free wifi, and room that was twice as clean and twice the size of the Roosevelt. The room has an old rusty air con, dirty walls, broken shower. room 1581. more

Really enjoyed our stay. The beds are very comfortable, great location, helpful staff. The pipes from neighboring rooms were a little noisy at night, but it wasn't that bad. more
