It's all ours! Hubby and I stayed for the first time (of many) for our 10th anniversary and it's now going to be our special place. Yeah, it's a bit dowdy, but our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. And it was ON the beach! The staff was welcoming and laid back. Love love love it! So... more

The people who say this place doesn't have "luxury accommodations" probably don't have much experience in staying in beach hotels on the CA coast. This place is FABULOUS compared to so many others. This is one of the very few hotels on the CA coast that is actually ON THE SAND and not across the highway! That's a huge plus!... more

The hotel was absolutely charming.. it had a old vintage, home like atmosphere.. The carpets might not me in the best condition...but consider how close the water and beach sand are to your room... not even ten feet!!! and if you need a internet connection than you should be at the sheraton or back at work. And speaking about the... more

When we arrived the staff was seating outside on chairs they seemed very laid back enjoying the ocean breeze, since it was a hot day. We had no problem checking in and our room was ready. When we got to our room I very disappointed on how run down the room was, the furniture had a muggy smell and the... more

Two stars because it is on the beach. Otherwise, it is pretty bad. It was actually the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in. There was a thick layer of dust on every surface over four feet high and the bathroom was in desperate need of a good scrubbing. The rooms are hideous and covered in pink rose wallpaper that is... more

Loved this place, like others before me- don't be expecting the sterile atmosphere of a chain hotel. We came here on Memorial Day & stayed till Wednesday- quiet & peaceful, helpful & friendly staff. Continental breakfast was costco muffins & pasteries, OJ, & coffee. This place has allot of personality & charm, we sat on the balcony enjoying the ocean-... more

After reading alot of the reviews I was hesitant to stay here. It turned out to be a really cute and cozy hotel, with the feel of a bed-and-breakfast, right on the beach, where I could leave the balcony sliding door open, enjoy the ocean breeze from bed, and listen to the sound of the ocean all night long. (Yes... more

This inn has been recommended to me by a good friend. She and her husband visit the inn at least twice a year. I've always hesitated because of the reviews. I finally succumbed and now I understand why the bad reviews. I honestly think that people give bad reviews to keep people away from this gem of an inn. I... more

My husband and I wanted to get away for a few days, and Ventura is only 1 1/2 hours away. We were booked at the Sheraton, but took a wrong turn and ended up on this side street right by the beach -- a real "surfer" neighborhood, with a wonderful tiny Mexican restaurant, the best coffee at "Full of Beans,"... more
