As I said in a review of another property down the road in which I stayed on the same trip, my "3 circle" overall rating is tied to Trip Advisor's characterization of their different rating levels. That is to say, this place deserves its 2 diamond AAA rating. If they had half stars it would be closer to 1 and... more

We spent one night at the Sierra Lodge while hiking in the Mammoth Lakes area. Our room was very clean but the furnishings were somewhat odd, e.g., there were two refrigerators and some dinnerware in our room but no flatware. We had a fast, reliable Wi-Fi connection. The bed linens and towels were clean and relatively new. As other reviewers... more

I felt as if I were staying in a different hotel than the one that was reviewed here. The building was run down. I cut my finger on the door knob between the parking in back and the hallway. The carpeting was literally filthy with years of grime. The Jacuzzi, which we were looking forward to, had a deep green... more

The room is alright, with comfortable bed, a small table with 2 chairs. Microwave. No airco but there is a fan provided. The breakfast is very limited and juice is like water, no taste. It's a good base though to go skiing and hiking. There is a free bus to go to the center and then you could buy a... more

My husband and I stayed here during the weekend of the Blues and Brews festival, and since we booked kind of late, it was the best hotel we could find with a vacancy. I echo what others have said. The room was at least clean. There was no air conditioning, which they probably don't need normally, but it was about... more

After our expensive stay at Yosemite's Curry Village, Sierra Lodge was a welcome relief. Whilst slightly dated (80's decor) it was clean, quiet and well located in downtown Mammoth Lakes with ample underground parking. The room was well laid out with microwave, fridge, sink, cutting board etc. The only slight drawback was the shower control could do with some TLC.... more

We saw there were mixed reviews for the Sierra Lodge, but appreciated the honesty of other travelers. We found the room pretty much as stated, it was clean and the staff were very accomodating to our needs, staff was great. The continental breakfast was, lets say very modest. This really is a good place to stay as base camp for... more

We stayed 2 nights at the Sierra Lodge. I will agree that the rooms do need some updating but our main concern always is that hotel rooms are clean. The room was clean and we had an excellent view of the downtown area and hillscape. My main compliments go to Rusty, who assisted first timers to Mammoth around town from... more

Mammoth seems to be quite an expensive place to stay and I looked through a number of hotels on trip advisor before booking. The Sierra Lodge rated highly and at a cost of around £80 was good value in Mammoth. We arrived early and although there was a mix up with the booking, we quickly got assigned a room. There... more

After staying at the Sierra Lodge over the busy 4th of July weekend, we can highly recommend this establishment for value, central location, and comfort. The room was well appointed and spacious. Our balcony had a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains. The bed was quite firm and comfortable. The room had a kitchenette, which included a microwave, refrigerator, and... more
