I stayed 2 nights with no regrets. Yes the room was small as was the elevator but overall it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a working jacuzzi, plenty of towels and some nice extras like shaving cream, razor, toothbrush and toothpaste, pocket comb, and of course, soaps and shampoo. The room had a large screen TV with at... more

I planned to stay two nights with my partner to go to museums and enjoy the city. We cut it short by one night. The hotel has an antiquated elevator (doors on ground floor close manually), have machines on each floor dispensing air freshener (what are they trying to mask?), a hotel staff that has had NO training. Our room... more

I was in Philadelphia for a business trip. My room was booked in advance, but when I arrived they told me they had given my room to somebody else. Instead I got a tiny room with shower/toilet on the other side of the corridor. There was no heat in the room. I finally got a portable heater that dried the... more

This is NOT a luxury hotel. The building is old, but serviceable. The elevator is narrow and a little difficult to navigate, but it works fine. The rooms are clean but a little worn (toilet bowl was clean but badly scratched in mine). Staff were a little reserved at first, but helpful and friendly after I made a minimal effort... more

We stayed only one night and we actually liked our room at the beginning. Unfortunately, the staff did their best to ruin our stay there. The housekeeping knocked the door very early in the morning (although we had the sign for not disturb in the door). When we came back at night the room wasn't clean. When we left the... more

Except for the elevator not working the hotel was not too bad. I will admit elderly or handicapped people may find the stairs a little hard to deal with. Great location-close to all city center attractions. Room was fine and the staff was very friendly and helpful. more

This hotel was the worst of my traveling experience. Besides all the other problems in the other reviews, the window was duct taped shut, the floor slanted toward the bathroom, there were trip hazards in the bathroom, we were double charged for the parking, the breakfast was stale, and the clerks and owners were extremely rude and completely unaccommodating. While... more

As a family of 3 (with a teenager) in june 2008 we had a 2 day stay in that Hotel and we have had a huge big room on the 5th level. Everything was fine - the staff was ok and after talking some the ladies were fine and helpful. Maybe they recognized that we are just travellers. Things like... more

I booked my reservation through Hotwire for $69/night + tax and fees. For this price, it's a really good hotel, especially considering hostels I booked for this trip cost more than this for 2 people. I'm not sure I would pay full price for this place. Pros: cable tv, complimentary breakfast was good, friendly and helpful staff, relatively close proximity... more

Wish I had read the reviews first. Price originally quoted at one level and then higher at checkin - had to show my documents to get the price adjusted back. Square footage of the room is good and amenities are nice (fridge, nice TV), but at the end of the day, this is a really old building full of historic... more
