The hotel was not the nicest of places but it got the job done and was walking distance of the nearby Penn Hospital. Even though some things didn't work, it definitely made up for it with its breathtaking views of the skyline of the city of Philadelphia and its view of Franklin Field. I would definitely stay there again. more

Being from out of the area, I don't care how negative the reviews are for this hotel, it has been a lifesaver for us this winter! With the bad weather and several stages of surgery I've had to go through, we have been very thankful for a hotel so close that we could stay the night and be ready for... more

If it were not for the fact that this hotel is the most convenient to the Hospital, which is a must when you have a grandmother in the ICU and a grandfather who is in a wheelchair who needs to take midday naps in between visits, I would never stay in this hotel even if you paid me. Dirty, smelly,... more

From the outside the hotel looks great. Thats were it ends I was supiciuos when I got on the elevator because it had an ordor. The front desk did'nt look like your typical front desk. We had stayed at Penn Towers before when my husband had to be at the University Hospital, and it was always comfortable and very convenient. What a change this time! The two bedside lamps didn't work and the TV volume was so low we couldn't hear so we called for maintenance. They fixed the lamps but couldn't do anything about... more

As an FYI to travelers, Penn Tower Hotel really is not functioning as a hotel. There are about 1.5 floors out of 21 that are still hotel rooms. The rest of the hotel is a medical center. The hotel does not have room service, has a small coffee bar that is only open until 2:30 in the afternoon and a... more

We had to go to Children's Hospital for our son and had 3 other children with us (4 in total). Booked both rooms MONTHS in advance. They didn't have the other room reservations, the showers were filthy, barely any towels, channels on the tvs were few. It was clearly seen that the cleaning service did the bare min. We had... more

Penn Tower Hotel has clearly not spent a dime in renovation in a really, really long time. The service is non-existent, and the rooms are dirty, poorly maintained, and unhealthy. I will never stay there again. The management ignores you because "They know". For $50 a night, I may consider it, but not a dime more. It is no value,... more

This hotel was recently redecorated--very clean. One negative however is they did away with room service and closed the in-house restaurants. No big deal--We went to La Veranda and had a great meal--- more

I stayed at this hotel a few years ago and wondered how they stayed in business, but rememeber that it IS run by an Academic Institute of Higher Learning. Ever been to a dorm? A captive, albeit suffering crowd from the hospital helps I guess. Parking here is cash only if you pay at the ramp. Who works on a... more
