The Westin Philadelphia's main attraction is its location. It is only blocks away from the dining and shopping of Rittenhouse Square, and within walking distance in every direction to many other shops and restaurants. I found this hotel very strange. Public spaces are underwhelming, the restaurant is dismal, the bar uninspiring. Ok so the beds are comfortable and thats fine for a businessman that is just going to sleep here with the Yellow Book, but for the tourist I suggest you look elsewhere. I stayed here for one night on a combination cash and SPG points. I was pleasantly surprised by the look of the hotel. I read somewhere that it was a former Ritz property. We stayed at the Westin for two nights, and were impressed with the service, location and quality. We had one minor problem, and the front desk staff quickly fixed it and offered us a free movie or extra Starwood points. We definitely will be back, especially if the rate is still the low price of $150/night. more
