This is a wonderful old house that dates back to the earliest days of Philadelphia. Our room (3 floor walk up!) was spacious and while not extravagant, very nice. The bathroom had both a shower and separate tub. The TV was circa 1975 but if youre looking for a hotel room based on the tv, you wont like this place... More

Stayed in February for the second time in 2 years and this is an elegant, peaceful, refined location that is a relief from the functional city aspects of the area. Reception is consistently responsive and courteous and our rooms were immaculate. When we arrived, we enjoyed a beverage and light cookies in the lovely living room. We note that in... More

I enjoy visiting different B and B's up and down the East Coast, and I recently discovered my new favorite. Located centrally in the heart of the most significant historic district in the entire US, the Morris House Hotel truly is a hidden gem. The history of the building was delightful to learn as the extremely friendly and helpful staff... More

We have started to take mini getaways. So far most have been refreshing. This destination was to celebrate my husband's birthday and Valentines day. We set up our dinner at M restaurant and then the hotel. The best part of this trip was that we scheduled the overnight stay at the hotel. The restaurant did not reach our expectations...so we... We just spent Valentine's weekend in the Morris Hotel and it was special. The luxury room was perfect for us- flat screen TV, WIFI, windows overlooking the gardens, free chocolates and bottles of spring water, robes in the bathoom, very nice breakfast and, above all, an excellent staff. The sitting rooms with the blazing fireplaces invite warmth and relaxation. A... More

This is a cute bed and breakfast in the heart of Philly. First with the negatives: -I flew in a red-eye from the west coast, I called ahead and asked if I was able to check in early. They said "not that early" and that I would have to pay for an extra night... so I did. $350 for a... More

OK, this is not a 5 star hotel nor does it pretend to be. It IS a charming inn dripping with history. We had a second floor suite. Comfortable, with all the expected amenities and a few of the problems one might associate with such a creaky property. As noted by others, the bathroom was "functional" at best. Water pressure... First, the pros: Reasonably priced, excellent location, comfortable bed. Clean rooms, big screen TV. I only had a few gripes about the room (302), and all were with the bathroom. The bathroom is very modern, it seemed out of place in a Colonial house. The water pressure was non-existent. It was literally a trickle coming out of the shower. May... More

We spent 3 nights at the Morris House Hotel during Christmas 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel itself was warm and inviting, particularly with all the Christmas decorations; having tea and cookies in front of the fireplace was especially nice. The staff was extremely helpful and the location was very convenient to all parts of town. Our room... More
