Carolyn the host gave us a warm welcome and showed us around the historical house. Beautiful front porch, very large living room and study with lots of books, the paper and historical & tourist books available for guests. Tea and homemade cookies available for guests. Breakfast in the morning was delicous starting with a fruit plate followed by quiche and... More

We stayed here at the start of our trip down the coast and were glad we chose it. Carolyn Hammer is a gracious host, and her place is well cared for and comfortable. Very historic, too. We went off season and she gave us two nights with a slight price break on the second. Her family was here, and she... More

My husband and I wound up being the only ones at the Benjamin Young for the night on New Years Day and got to enjoy the quiet peace and serenity of such a beautiful and historic old home. The holiday season is a great time to come to Astoria due to the low tourism volume. We enjoyed sitting in the... More

My son and I stayed at the Benjamin Young Inn recently. Our stay there was definitely a highlight of our trip to Astoria. The house is a very well maintained and authentic Victorian with lots of character and charm. The rooms are very bright, spacious and comfortable. The best part of the experience was the generous hospitality of Caroline, the... More

As we headed toward Astoria we looked at the B&Bs on Travel Advisor and noted this place hadn't had a review in awhile. We were referred by another B&B owner as they were fully booked and we were thrilled with this option. What a special home. The owner, Carolyn, showed us through the property. We had the Rose Room, quaint... More

I would highly recommend this B&B for a stay in Astoria. Our host, Caryolyn, was very gracious and cooked us a wonderful breakfast in the morning. The barking seals didn't wake me, but my wife heard them telling "jokes" throughout the night. For those who like to run, bike or walk, there is a path along the water accessible just... More

The place was lovely, and I loved listening to the sounds of the sea lions. But the cat smell was a little too much. Unfortunately I had dreams of cat litter boxes. All I could smell was cat. The owner is so very nice and the breakfast was amazing. If you have a cat for a pet, I am sure... More

This is a beautiful building...rooms were large and our view of the harbour was gorgeous... sea lions sing you to sleep (or take ear plugs)...otherwise quiet at night. Common area is large with lots of reading material on local history. Carolyn filled us in on events that we may be interested in...(we saw Judy Collins perform thanks to Carolyn). Breakfast... More

Carolyn, our hostess, was quite charming, and even took time to chat with us in the evening after we returned from dinner. Her home is a beautiful Queen Anne on the historic register, and many of its details are still original, including the gorgeous stained glass windows in the front door. The inn is centrally located in Astoria, easy driving... More

Loved the house and the Honeymoon Suite (although it wasn't our honeymoon!) The reading nook had a beautiful window that overlooked the harbor and from which you could see the sunset over the ocean. The sea lions were vocal - we kept thinking that they'd sleep but they didn't. Surprisingly, we didn't have any problem falling asleep though. Homemade breakfasts... More
