Overall, it (the cruisetour) was an excellent experience, and I also attribute the good parts of our stay at the Westmark to HAL's efforts, not to the Westmark personnel, with whom we had little interaction, except at breakfast. the rooms are ok, big and clean but with no white goods inside they offer a free wireless in room the price is higher if you do not make a reservation by internet before. more

Westmark is owned by Holland America Lines and is really a very basic hotel, not very appealing. It's used as their jumping off point for many of their Alaska tours, so if your not with a HAL tour be aware a lot of people will be coming and going. Not much in Fairbanks to see either, a far north town... more

Nothing is really centrally located in Fairbanks but this hotel was easy to find. We stayed there because the hotel had shuttle service to the railroad but the service was discontinued, apparently. The Holland America Cruise folks were willing to take us. I'd verify the shuttle, if you need it, so you don't get in a bind. Rooms were simple... more
