it's a beautiful place but the landlord is just rude!! He is not nice at all and only cares about the money you're going to give him. He only accepts cash or paypall, no credit card. Nice house but, i didnt feel confrtable at all, he puts you ou at 11Am. At this price, I think it's better to take... more

We had booked our room at the Sofia Inn months in advance of a visit to be with our daughter who lives in Brooklyn and works in Manhattan. We did a fair amount of research and ended up really liking the pictures of the rooms at the Sofia Inn, as well as the location- right in the middle of everything... more

Stayed a week here and for $175.00/night I got a comfortable and baronial room: the Parlour Suite. High ceilings, fine architectural details and cozy furnishings. Lots of atmosphere. Great value. Hip neighborhood. Lots of great places to eat. The housekeeper Celeste was efficient and very sweet. more

We recently stayed at the Sofia Inn - the room was very clean and spacious - it even had a fridge and microwave. However, the noise from the street was disruptive, and we had no interaction whatsoever with anyone - keys were distributed by notes etc and the whole experience felt quite impersonal. I'm not sure the inn provides the... more

The Sofia Inn is a find. Great nayborhood, close to Manhattan. We love the place. We stay in the Palour Suite with fabulous design, very big beautiful kitchen, and beautiful backyard. Our first day the owner meets us, and because this our first time in Brooklyn (we have been to Manhattan many time) he spend time explaining places to see,... more

To be honest, because of the low-rate, I wasn't expecting much, just a place we could lay our heads. But the room we stayed in (The East Room) was remarkably nice. It was on the second floor, but roomy with comfy furnishings, gorgeous art, and a kitchenette area. We weren't wild about staying in Brooklyn, but we are sure glad... more

My husband and I spent three days visiting our son and his girlfriend in late March. Our stay at the Sofia Inn was part of the fun! The brownstone and surrounding neighborhood were charming. Our proprietor Billy was not only helpful but made us feel comfortable, giving us tips on restaurants and providing historical information about the area. He told... more

Funky is the most tactful description. I wouldn't call it a B&B or an inn. It's feels almost like a rooming house. We had to share a bathroom. Our daughter booked this since it was convenient to her small apartment. We had to share a bathroom. We did have a large room with microwave and small fridge. It was quiet... more

First, the good things: The Sofia is clean and comfortable. It's in a great location, near a few subway stops, and a short ride into Manhattan. We stayed with friends in the Garden Suite, and other friends stayed in the Parlor Suite. Now, a few bad things: 1) The 10 AM check out time seems unusually early, but overall is... more

We were thrilled to see the old brownstone building after a 5 hour flight from Phoenix. We were very happy with the Parlor Suite the rooms had gorgeous decor and kitchen was well equipped. We felt very comfortable in the suite, it was of a high standard and the location was perfect for our needs. The subway was a block... more
