I stayed in this place with my friends during my trip to New York City. This place is really cheap and they give you good free breakfast but that's it! There are 14 beds in each room and there are no assigned beds. You need to enter your room and pick up a bed that's available. Every day, when we... more

We stayed in the NY Loft Hostel for a week. We booked a private room. The room was spacious (it was a corner room), with 4 large windows. Bathroom small, but large enough and clean. The room itself was less clean (dust on the floor and the hand grips of the windows. The linen were spotless. Breakfast was OK –... more

Better to stay Hostel International (HI) in New York City than save $10 and pass the night without a blanket in Loft Hostel. Plus, the charge for renting towel is $2, so basically one is saving $8 in staying Loft. The only good thing is the location. more

We spent two nights here in Oct in one of the private rooms. At the price we got (through expedia) it was a steal. On arrival we were alarmed at the location (on the same street as a rubbish depot!). We spent the first day exploring Brooklyn and soon found that it was very difficult to get to anywhere in... more

The location of the hostel is average, it's not as artistic as what other online reviews try you to believe. It's more a warehouse area with some alternative folks walking around. But at least it is safe and you are in about 15 min at Union Square. The hostel building it self is perfect, it is clean, has WiFi, kitchen... more

We loved the place,.. fresh breakfast and great BBQs every other day!! Our room on the 4th floor was clean with a neat small bathroom, and a huge tree right outside the window. The bunks were streamlined, new and very comfy. more

Well, where do I start? First off, the receptionist at the front desk had it out for me the minute I walked in. Never friendly, never smiling, except the last day when I was about to check out, upon which, TRYING to feign "regret" or "sadness" of some sort, he uttered rather sarcastically, "Leaving already?" and I was like "YEAH!... more

The NY Loft Hostel was really nice. I stayed on a cold night but the rooms were warm and I didn't need the blanket. The TV room and kitchen are great. I was booked into a 22-bed male dorm but they put me in a 12-bed mixed dorm instead. The hostel is simply too poorly located to get the top... more
