Stayed three nights beginning of June, 2013 on top floor. It WAS Top Floor! Nicely appointed clean room, big bathroom, working air conditioner, lovely place to collapse after hectic Manhattan. Close to subway, Prospect Park, beautiful neighborhood with great architecture, looming trees and flowering plants everywhere. Very entertaining staff.

We stayed in the Vanderbilt apartment in Fort Greene. Really nice, large room (very large by NYC standards). Good sized bathroom and kitchen too. Very clean. Great neighbourhood of lovely old Brownstones which seem to have gone through a quite rapid gentrification over the last few years. 8 days in Brooklyn was maybe 1 day too many...but the 8th day was a great day, too! EASY access to Manhattan via subway. We stayed there at the summer 2011 for about a week. My husband and I took the Osborne Room and my mum stayed at the Bradley Room, both at the same floor. All the furniture were new. The cleanning was impecable. We were sharing bathroom, but that wasn't a problem. I wouldn't recomend it if you have problems climbing stairs.... More

nice hotel, free upgrade to the very nice "washington room" due to booking error (the rooms in the main building seem to be much smaller though), friendly and helpful staff/owner, only negative thing was the cockroach in the bathroom.

We stayed at the "Lafayette" apartment in Fort Greene for a weekend in May, and it surpassed our expectations. The front room was large enough to receive a gaggle of guests; the kitchen was stocked with coffee and cutlery; and there were maps of the area available, and even a pair of emergency umbrellas. We really enjoyed our stay in Lefferts Manor. Mark was very helpful and our room was very nice. Rutland Road is a nice and quiet road in the middle of all the 'busyness' of the big city. We all really enjoyed our stay in the Carlton and Washington suites! The rooms were large and comfortable. Mark was incredibly helpful in arranging our transportation to and from the airport and with anything else we needed. I would highly recommend!
