I agree with the earlier reviewer -- this was like staying with friends. The 3 guys who run this place were extremely friendly, intelligent, concientious types and the other travelers I met there were the same. We sat around talking books and politics, not getting drunk in a bar. It's a quick trip into NYC, in a quieter, more indie area; it was a wonderful introduction to NYC for me and I'll definitely be going back when I pass through NY again. What a great find. more

if i am lucky enough to go back to new york someday, i will stay at this hostel. if you like rowdy parties and frat houses, you should not stay here. if you are interested in really experiencing the city, and feeling like you live there, you should absolutely stay here. the staff are wonderful, friendly, and recommended some great places to us! just a safe, cozy atmosphere and always a guaranteed good time hanging out in the evening if you are tired from walking around for 8 hours straight. comfy bunk beds, sweet air conditioner, free internet. very impressed! thanks guys and gal! more
