We stayed here for 3 nights in September 2012. I was afraid I'd booked us for too many nights here, but we were trying to stay at 4 different lodges in the parks and we needed to be here 3 nights. It turned out to be perfect! There was enough for us to do each day to keep us busy... More

We drive to Glacier National Park every summer from Michigan and stay for a week. Each and every lodging in the park is unique but we like Village Inn and Swiftcurrent Motel the best. We usually stay half of the week over Swiftcurrent and the rest at the Village Inn. The unit with kitchenette on the 1st floor is dated... More

Wow - what a location! We stayed in a first floor room (#61) and you literally step out your door onto a small patio and then onto the rocky beach of a pristine glacial lake. We particularly liked having the kitchenette and a large (handicap-accessible) bathroom after coming from Glacier Park Lodge with its itty bitty bathrooms. The decor was... More

The morning lapping of water on the shore woke me up - the front door is about 10 feet from the lake. Very nice relaxing place to stay. This is for people that are hiking, taking photos and visting Glacier park - not for sitting in the rooms. Rooms are OK - just not where you are going to spend... More

We stayed here one night on August 26. We were in a second floor room. The room was small but clean. We had twin beds. I could open the curtains laying in bed and peek out at the view. We did not bring all our luggage up to the room for our one night stay. It would have been hard... More

Keep in mind that, like all the lodging inside Glacier, this is an older place that only operates a few months each year. If you can appreciate the history and the experience, this is your perfect place. Even if you are a more finicky traveler, stay here for the view and the convenient location. All rooms face the water with... More

Service was great - efficient and friendly. Spectacular view! Set-up of 2 bedroom suite was good - makes it affordable if traveling with kids or friends. The heater wasn't particularly effective and we wished there had been more extra blankets. The rooms smelled musty, but not so much so that I wouldn't stay there again...

Our family stayed here for one night during a recent trip to Glacier National Park after spending four nights at Many Glacier Hotel (awesome, but a lot more expensive). As soon as we got to Village Inn at Apgar realized we should have arrived sooner and stayed here at least one more night, for the view if nothing else. The... More

I had stayed there in 1988 and dreamed of the view. I was not disappointed. The view alone justifies the price. The room was not great but neither was it substandard. West Glacier is such a tourist trap that it is a blessing to find anything of quality there.

Frequently when I stay at a hotel inside a national park, I need to scale back my expectations of the guest rooms; The Village Inn is no exception. Situated perfectly at the south end of Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park, the Village Inn boasts unforgettable views of the lake and mountains. The guest rooms, however, are very basic motel-type... More
