We stayed two nights at the Glacier Bay Lodge and took the full-day boat tour as well. Both were well above our expectations, and I would recommend staying and playing at Glacier Bay to anyone. For a National Parks property, we were quite impressed with the Glacier Bay Lodge. If you are showing up expecting this to be a 5-star... more

This must be the best place to stay when visiting Glacier Bay. The location is delightful - set in the rain forest by the shore of Bartlett Cove The cabin rooms are detached from the main block which can be a disadvantage in the wet (and there is a lot of wet) but they are very attractive and well maintained... more

We stayed 4 nights, which was probably as long as you would need to take in Glacier Bay. It's good to be at the lodge instead of in Gustavus because then there's no transporation issue. It is VERY quiet, even though the bay can have a lot of activity going on. The restaurant is a little pricey, especially considering that... more

Our 3 week driving tour of Alaska finished with a visit to Glacier Bay and a stay at this hotel. Three adults shared a room which was very comfortable and clean and just a bit different. We made the most of our two night stay with a trip to see the whales on the first evening and the Glacier Bay... more

We stayed here for two nights in late August 2008. We made the reservation directly with the lodge and had an all inclusive package which included the transfers from and back to the airport, all meals, the Glacier Bay Tour and of course a room at the lodge. Our flight was slightly late and when we arrived just after 17:00... more

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights at the end of August. Comfortable living next to fabulous natural beauty. The room was fine- appears newly renovated. Very quiet, peaceful. No reason to stay elsewhere (unless you are fishing every day) as all the other options are 8 miles away and the hiking, whale watching and kayaking is right there.... more

Our shampoo dispenser remained empty from the day we arrived to the day we left, even though I told the front desk twice. Trash was not removed. The shuttle to/from Gustavus 10 miles away is not complimentary, not even the airport pick-up, not even if you're staying at the lodge. It's $12.xx per person each way - so trips to... more

Stayed for one night which was our first night in Alaska. Staff was very friendly, had a cabin type room with 2 beds which was a little dated but clean and comfortable. Really liked restaurant because food was good and staff actually cared. Food was not processed crap. There was wireless internet I think in the lobby only and the... more

My husband and I stayed at the Lodge for four nights starting on 29th July 2008. Barlett Cove is better than staying in Gustavus as you are right in the place to enjoy nature, you don't have to be driven to the park every morning as you are living in it, besides Gustavus is just a bunch of B&B and... more

My wife, son, and I stayed three nights at the Glacier Bay Lodge at the end of July, 2008. The lodge rooms, which are in cabins away from the main lodge, are very pleasant for a national park setting; they were much nicer than rooms in lodges at Glacier National Park or Mt. Rainier National Park. Of course, there are... more
