First of all, there is not much else in this area and it is not a place of prosperity. This hotel is quite basic. The room is ok, the bed is a bit small and the shower head is less then 6 feet high requiring some funny bending to clean your hair. There is a little window air conditioner and... more

Ok so this ain´t the Hilton or a Best Western or a Super 8 some other anodyne chain motel. This is a collection of cabins, a gas station, RV park and shop/bar/restaurant/gaming room on the Nevada/Utah border. The place is gloriously remote amid majestic scenery in the desert basin beneath Mount Wheeler. Our queen bed cabin was spacious, had wooden... more

Had a one night stop here after visiting the great basin national park. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are nice, if a little dated, but that is part of the charm of staying in a place like this, it has character and is not an chain hotel clone. Room was clean and comfy. So that meets my... more

First let me say I travel a lot and I stay in a lot of hotels. I usually stay in national chains such as Quality, La Quinta, Holiday Inn Express and although the Border Inn can't compare with amentities it's better in some respects such as cleanliness. There were no bugs in our room and the room was spotless. It... more

My wife, college aged son and I spent two nights at the Border Inn last August and while I've certainly stayed in fancier hotels it was quite a hoot and sure took me back to simpler times. We went hiking each day in Great Basin National Park, so we didn't spend a whole lot of time in our room, but... more

My dad and I were traveling, on a Friday Night, and reached Ely, NV to stop and spend the night, but there was NOTHING AVAILABLE, all hotels were full, so we traveled on to Delta, UT. Hoping for something to be available there or somewhere sooner, it was very late into the night and we were both very tired; well... more

The Border Inn is a unique place outside the Great Basin National Park, but in the middle of nowhere. The rooms are small and in trailers, but it is quiet, affordable and nice way to enjoy some solitude. The bar/restaurant/service station is helpful on the lonely U.S. Highway 50. There is a full service bar and kitchen and about 20... more
