The Silver Jack Inn and its complementary Lectrolux Café are just the thing one needs to heal body, soul, and mind after a day of journey either east or west. Just remember that when you're on the Loneliest Road in America. The very remoteness of the location means that one's focus is shifted to things more deep and important that... more

On a 2 1/2 week tour of Nevada I read about the "quaitness" of Silver Jack's and reservered a room several days in advance. We arrived about 6:30 pm and were told by the owner (a less than pleasent waiter, cook, clerk, etc.) that he "had" to move us from a double bed cabin to a room in a back... more

I stumbled upon this inn a few years ago when taking a back roads tour. I was amazed at the sophisticated culture of such a remote place. I have returned several times since, both as a pass-through and as a final destination. It is VERY isolated. No cell service, but the WiFi gives you Skype phoning access. There is not... more

We were so happy to finally arrive in Baker, and see this cute place next to a great cafe! The rooms might be small, but they are clean! And why stay indoors when you're in the heart of some of the most big, beautiful and wide open spaces in America? more

I plan an annual get away for friends to meet up. We kind of take over the place, but Terry Marasco, the owner, has been the most gracious of hosts. He has always done an axcellent job in accomodating our group of 20-25. The food has always been outstanding. You wouldn't expect food of this quality in a 5 star hotel!... more

Several friends and I traveled to Baker and stayed at the Silver Jack for two nights, visiting Great Basin National Park and also getting an impromptu town tour from innkeeper Terry Marasco. Terry's tour narrative (local houses hand-built on green principles) was just as interesting and knowledgeable as that of the Park Service guides up the road. The Silver Jack... more

There are few choices in Baker, but we would not stay at the Silver Jack Inn again. The owner, for whatever reason, did not run the swamp cooler for any length of time, and that made the small room extremely HOT. The internet did not work. There were holes in the ceiling, dirt on the carpet, and a pretty moldy... more

We stayed at the Silver Jack Inn in October 2005. Our room was small, very dated and there was evidence of damp in some parts of the walls. Nevertheless the room had been very well cleaned and the bed clearly fairly new and comfortable. Our evening meal in T&D's over the road was excellent and incredibly good value. The breakfast... more

OK, it's not the Ritz, but the Ritz couldn't make it in Baker. This place is, I think, the only place to stay in Baker and Baker is the best place to stay if you want to see Great Basin National Park. The Silver Jack Inn is modest, but it's clean. The beds were probably new and wonderful to sleep... more

The accomodations here are very, very basic and the rooms are extremely dated. Wood panel walls, dirty carpet and old dingy bedding. We stayed in a room with a queen bed, fridge and a/c. Both the fridge and a/c barely keep cool, definitely not cold and the area around the room is gravel & weeds. We only paid $65 a... more
