Booked into Riverhouse Motor Lodge for 3 days in the latter portion of July. Weather dealt 3 straight days of 90 percent humidity. Needless to say Gatlinburg lost much of its appeal...especially the parkway...just could not find the attraction in the overkill of ole time photo shops,cheap tee shirts,and cereal box souvenirs that abound on the parkway and even less... more

the room was great, very similar to what you would expect in a small chalet, very roomy. TV was small for such a large room. Breakfast was disappointing, I was expecting more for a Continential Breakfast than homemade donuts, coffee or orange juice, not exactly what a diabetic should have for breakfast. The place was clean and well maintained. Staff was very courteous. The suprise was the heated outdoor swimming pool. It was the end of March with a warm spell and the pool was ready to go. That was an added fun addition for our grandkids. Staff provided extra towels for swimming pool use. Definitely be coming back. more

Had stayed at the riverhouse before and enjoyed it. Was wondering about where the negative comments were coming from...now I know. Upon checking in on Sat. afternoon, A dog was barking in the next room, which was a connecting room with a connecting door, which even made it worse.
