we were surprised to find the price that was given over the phone was far too different from the price the receptionist gave us! we just passed by to check but because they had told us a higher price before we had actually booked in another hotel for 3 days. may be its a marketing strategy but we were told... This hotel has a beautiful scenery..the gardens are breathtaking. This place is expensive, so you would expect a really good service. However, the heater in our room wasn't working, and it took the hotel authorities a long time to get it sorted out. I just wish they would get a good chef, the food tastes bland. The room had no... Had a really nice stay at Mountains of the Moon over a holiday weekend. Was welcomed warmly by reception. Room was very clean and well put together. The bedding was warm and comfortable, however the mattress was typical foam and was too hard, woke up with sore back. The food was mediocre. Bar was great. Really nice pool area including... More

While we were only at Mountains of the Moon for one evening it was everything we needed in a hotel. The rooms were a good size and very clean. The beds were comfortable and the shower hot with above average pressure. Due to the size of the grounds the hotel is lovely and peaceful and we were woken in the... More

After driving from Kampala, Mumbende and other places, arriving to Mountains of the Moon hotel was a pleasant surprise. The setting is very relaxing; the beautiful green garden and colorful flowers offer the perfect welcome to tired travelers. Also the staff welcomed us with cold glasses full of tropical juice. The rustic style of the rooms are very charming with... More

I enjoyed the rustic style of the room as well as the spacious garden and areas at the hotel. In the bar/restaurant area it takes far to long time to get service. Once I did manage I got average food after quite some time. The breakfast is very basic for the price paid. The hotel has clear potential though.

After a long day of driving and treking, this hotel was a bit of a nice surprise. The room was good, beds comfy and bathroom pretty good (although anything wet and warm would have been well received) and the staff were great about running around getting us things we'd forgotten and ensuring beer remained topped up. We were there Christmas... More

We stay two nights during the weekend (145 usd/night double room). The infrastructure is quite nice and relaxing, however the service could be better. The restaurant takes aprox. 30-45 minutes to have the orders ready or if you simply ask for a straw or a napkin they take at least 5 min. Do not make any expectations of food. They... More

The hotel looks great but the food was pretty poor, even for Africa standards. Instead of tortillas we got chibati, after being promised tortillas. We found out there were no tortillas after they brought out the rest of the food & then had to wait 20 mins while they found some chibatis. The cake was hard as a rock &... More
