Firstly there are a lot of misleading reviews here, many of the reviews are for the Marari Beach resort http://www.cghearth.com/marari_beach/index.htm not the Marari Fishermans Village Beach Resort. Marari beach resort has its own uniqueness, calmness and beauty. The rooms are excellent, the property is beautifully maintained and the beach is awesome.. Wonderfully relaxing pool area, gorgeous villas, lovely staff , great food and excellent spa....but this is too much of a natural beach resort for me as the local villagers unashamedly squat on the beach morning and evening littering the sand with dozens of piles of faeces that the sea washes away. This was my favourite hotel of the 6 sets of accommodation we stayed in on our India trip. Including the Leela in Kovalam. It was better than I expected and nicer than its website pictures describe. the private beach was clean and uncluttered the rooms were roomy and so was the bathroom, very natural, bright, earthy the ambience of the entire hotel was relaxed and natural the food was very good it was relaxing even with my two nephews and a niece and they had enough to do the massage was alright we had a great... more

I stayed at Marari Beach in 2002 and wanted to come back. 7 years later (and a triple increase in room rates!), I went back and loved it again. The staff, the services, the location (away from chaotic roads), the beach - I look forward to returning to Marari Beach. more

I've been to Marari twice (2006 and 2007) and I would go again... and again. It is not a resort for the active but if you want to relax it's heaven. The resort is so spacious and tranquil.
