Stayed in Coir Village Thrikunnapuzha in Allapuzha. Cottages are on a small island and Office & Restaurant on another small island. There is no bridge between the islands and there is a private ferry by the resort. We could bargain a package 4 cottages for 10 adults and 3 kids for 1 day at 15K with breakfast; the 12 noon... more

We stayed for two nights and wished we had booked for longer. Wonderful wildlife - kingfishers and fish eagles easily seen from the cane chairs on our veranda. Food was fine and the service friendly and helpful. Don't miss a canoe trip around the local waterways - close up views of fish eagles and the backwaters of the Coir Village... more

This resort does not work on any level. While the secluded location sounds and looks appealing at first glance the reality is you feel completely trapped and isolated. This is made far worse by the fact that the amenities are so bad. The whole place looks incredibly shabby, the food is terrible, the rooms are dirty and dangerous (stained bed... more

Beautiful place reached by boats on the Backwaters. Lunch was served Keralan style on a bannana leaf and a huge buffet breakfast. Our room was spotless and I loved the porch and hammock. Go for a walk into town and meet the local people. We were taken to see part of a local festival (harvest). more

The setting of this hotel is superb - on the backwaters with cottage 'rooms' reachable only by a ferry from reception. There is a village nearby where the women weave rope from coir and a temple too, apparently, but the signs are virtually nonexistant and transport is difficult unless you bring it with you or request a taxi from reception.... more

This place is away from City and picturesque PROPERTY. If someone wants to relax and explore him/herself, it is nice place to stay. However one shouln't expect any amenities over here. One shouldn't expect any services from this RESORT 's management. Once you are here (35 K.M. away from Alleppey City) you are dependent on staff over here and don't... more

I travelled to Alleppey in June first week, 2008 with my family . Took train from Bangalore ( Kochuveli express ) which runs on alternate days and has convenient timings . I had only 2 days to explore the area. So I decided to stay one day in a resort and another in "speciallity" houseboat. One of my friend suggested... more

Set in the backwaters about 1 hour south of Alleppey. Basic clean rooms with showers and A/C. Food not terribly good or inspiring but edible. Our room was reached by crossing several little water ways, they was always a boat man on hand to take you across. Hotel will arrange a canoe/ punt ride for you (about £3) for an... more

Our stay here - in the middle of the Keralan backwaters - was supremely restful and enjoyable. Having pulled up at a small waterway in our Ambassador, we stepped out and boarded a wooden canoe which took us across the channel (about 3 metres) to a small island on which we found the Reception desk. Another boat took us across... more
