We stayed for two nights and wished we had booked for longer. Wonderful wildlife - kingfishers and fish eagles easily seen from the cane chairs on our veranda. This resort does not work on any level. While the secluded location sounds and looks appealing at first glance the reality is you feel completely trapped and isolated. Beautiful place reached by boats on the Backwaters. Lunch was served Keralan style on a bannana leaf and a huge buffet breakfast. Our room was spotless and I loved the porch and hammock. The setting of this hotel is superb - on the backwaters with cottage 'rooms' reachable only by a ferry from reception. There is a village nearby where the women weave rope from coir and a temple too, apparently, but the signs are virtually nonexistant and transport is difficult unless you bring it with you or request a taxi from reception.... more
