picked this place because it was closer to my meeting. web access and starbucks next door are pluses. but a bit dumpy and creepy--it looks like a renovated apt bldg so the rooms are huge but the decor is old and tired--70s style almost and the elevator is extremely worn and smelly. the inner harbour marriott is a bit nicer... more

The Burkshire is in a good location, near Towson University and a few of the area hospitals. The rooms all contain kitchenette's, an oddity for a Marriott, but not well stocked with working appliances and kitchen supplies. The hotel restaurant is very limited inand frequently didn't even have bottled water. more

People who love and hate this hotel are both right. The suites are a little tired. But then again they are really large. You have a large BR, small BR, kitchen, LR, and bathroom. I stayed here in January, 2006 and again in January, 2008 and paid $119 and $129 per night. The second time I stayed there the bar/restaurant... more

Highly Recommended. I am a businessman who has stayed in many hotels and this is one of the best at any price. Large comfortable, suite with full kitchen and balcony overlooking the Towson University campus. Ample free parking garage. Near several good restaurants and Starbucks. Nice breakfast buffet. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Quiet. Minutes from freeway and Goucher... more

The truth of the matter is that if you traveling with a family there is no better hotel in the area to stay at. The renovated rooms are fantastic. They are clean, the balcony is safe, and everything is complete Marriott quality with them. The two real downsides to the hotel are the elevator situation in that they are quite... more

A nightmare! I am a Marriotts Rewards Customer and frequent Marriotts, however, I am embarassed that I booked this "upscale hotel" thinking that the Marriott name stood for quality. This hotel was a Senior Citizens Home( really) prior to the ongoing renovation of a FEW of the top floors. I literally did not take my shoes off, (filthy) sat on... more

Yes, rooms are big, but dingy. My room had sliding glass doors leading to some roof... I didn't feel safe. Kitchen was ugly. Hallways smelled. I didn't dare to eat in the restaurant. more

I stayed at this hotel for a conference in August 2007 and found it to be adequate for business purposes. My "room" was actually an enormous one-bedroom suite that included a kitchen (complete with coffee maker, oven, stove, microwave, full-sized fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer), a dining room living room combo with a small outdoor balcony, a large bathroom, and a... more

My husband, infant son, and I just came back from attending a conference held at the hotel and based on the previous negative reviews, I was wavering between expecting the worst and not expecting very much. I was very pleasantly surprised by the rooms. Granted, the rooms could use touch-ups here and there (e.g., paint, repair, linoleum on kitchen floor),... more
