we stayed in Lumbung Damuh for 2 weeks and had been there already in 2009. fantastic natural place with great people. Why do we travel so far ? to stay in some luxury 5 star hotel ? not really, we go there to discover the country, the culture and nature, and theres no better places to be so close to... More

This little place was recommended to us by a friend and we jumped at the opportunity to experience something different - we quickly checked out of our hotel. Don't get me wrong - the hotel we were staying at was nice enough, but we were seeking a more authentic Balinese experience away from the city noise and crazy motorcycle drivers!... More

I found the place to be much as expected, if anything it was cuter than I expected and the area quieter. It is on a really local bit of beach, there are a few other hotels about, but we were there when it was pretty quiet and it was mainly locals on the beach at sunset. The beach is pebbly... More

i was initially travelling alone but met someone on the plane from darwin to denpasar and he decided he'd come and stay with me at lumbung damuh as he had no sleeping arrangements yet. it was absolutely fantastic, i would love to live there if it was in an area better suited for my entertainment, i think i'd get bored... The photos on their website very misleading - the actual property was not very spacious, clean or tidy. Our room was double booked when we arrived. We were offered a smaller hut with no apology. The hut was very disappointing and the upper floor near the entrance felt like it might give way. The kitchen looked really dirty - i... More

We stayed in 6 hotels during our last trip and this was the most expensive (apart from a suite in Ubud) - also the least value for money. We loved the situation, the village, the locals, the local restaurants which were very good BUT Lumbung Damuh seems to be in serious need of some TLC. We stayed in the superior... More

I was recommended this place by friends who gave it high marks. We were surprised by the uniqueness and setting. The owner contacted us several times and made sure we were coming and guaranteed us the room we asked for which we got ( the superior room in front-it is really nice). The owners weren't there at the time so... More

With such great reviews we gave it a go. Arranged pick up from airport and arrived at 1am. We were directed to a very small thached elevated hut at the rear of the property (not beachfront). After a very long day we went to bed which was located the middle of the hut. In fact the bed took up nearly... More

Lumbung Damuh is a lovely small place to stay. We had the Superior Lumbung which faces the beach and the view and breeze was excellent. Cost 400,000rp per night including breakfast (internet rate). This is the largest lumbung. Made who works here is a lovely man who goes out of his way to help. He organized our washing, (35,000rp), transport... More

We stayed in this hotel at the end of September - although I shouldn't call it a hotel, it felt more like staying with someone's family. Although we didn't really see the owners much, their manager, Made, was absolutely amazing, getting up at 1am to make us breakfast and see us off to climb Gunung Batur, finding relatives who could...
