My husband and I were attending a conference and this hotel was recommended by the conference staff. I have no idea why. There are lots of nice hotels in the area. I had requested a non-smoking room but when I arrived the room reeked of cigarette smoke and we were told the hotel was full and there were no other... more

I stayed at Crossland for several weeks. The rooms were extremely cramped, paint was peeling off the exterior doors, trash was piled in the hallways and the price was about 100 dollars more than cleaner, newer extended stay properties in the area. The bed was uncomfortable without fitted sheets and you find yourself laying on a nasty mattress by morning.... more

I was a little disappointed to learn that when you book "non-smoking" online that it is not guaranteed. I walked into a room that reeked of 10 years of smoke in the carpet, walls and bed linens. When I asked about non-smoking rooms there were none available and I could not have a refund so they handed over a bottle... more

We stayed a saturday night before a Chiefs game. When I booked on priceline I did not realize that i was getting 2 "queen" rooms. Which is a room with only 1 queen bed. After i had it booked I called the hotel dirrectly to see if I could change it to, two rooms with two double beds, they said... more

Got this hotel for Thur-Sun in Sept 08. Booked on Priceline for $30 + tax/fees a night. For that price this place was definately acceptable. The room was decently clean. The bed wasnt the greatest, but the sheets were clean. The TV is small. The kitchen appeared clean and functioned. The shower and bathroom was average. They did provide us... more

Honestly, spending the night in a chair in the bus-station waiting room might have been a better alternative. Bugs crawling around in the room, cigarette burns and overpowering smoke smell in this "non-smoking" room, very cramped (little more than the footprint of the uncomfortable queen bed), no extra pillows. Property is RIGHT next to roaring I-70, and the side that... more

If you know what kind of hotel you are booking, you shold have no problem with this hotel. If you need a place to stay for the night, it was cheap, clean, and the area seemed safe. Rooms are small, but have refrig., stovetop, and pots, pans, etc. We had no problems with this place. more

I will NOTstay at this "hotel" again. The rooms smelled so bad it was almost unbearable. The bathrooms were dirty and the trash had not been taken out from the last person that stayed there. There was hair in the bathub (which didn't drain very well). The air conditioning/heater didn't work consistently all night so the room went from freezing... more

The hotel and staff were great. The room was clean and ready for me, even though I checked in early. I found the staff friendly and helpful. While the hotel is not the Ritz, it is clean and cheap. Two things that I like when traveling. more

I got this room for $25/night on Priceline by bidding on a 1* in the Independence area. That is a great value considering the hotel website wanted $45/night. The Motel 6 down the highway advertises $35 a night. I feel the best way to describe this room is to say that it is of the same quality as a Motel... more
