This explains the transcendent menus, the exceptional amenities and the helipad which renders the airport a mere 20 minutes distant.In this realm of verdant valleys all guests can unwind and give themselves over to the rejuvenating powers of nature. Although there may be little inclination to do so, guests may remain as close as they desire to the world via computer, internet or fax. Taman Wana Villas & Spa is unfailing in its support of the environment as well as the local communities of West Bali, a large part of which is occupied by the Bali Barat National Park, unquestionably Bali’s richest ecosystem, the 777-square-kilometer reserve lays just 20 minutes away by car or one hour away by foot. The eight circular-shaped villas hark back to a form of architecture first carried to the island by pre-Hindu settlers from Polynesia over one thousand years ago. Each of the individual structures, built of gorgeous teakwood and set at different levels and angles, exude a character all their own. Lying on the border of a major national park, the jagged peaks of Mount Klatakan and Mount Batugenteng on the horizon and lend the location an untamed atavistic beauty. All that you see before you are close to the site. Stars crowd out the sky at night.The resort’s cuisine is first class. The vegetables are crisp, the beer cold, the cellar of impeccable pedigree, the service brisk and the smiles sincere. Local seafood, supplied daily from the coast, is sumptuously fresh. Diners may choose an outdoor pavilion, tables set around the pool or the dining room inside the largest cone-shaped thatched roofed structure on Bali.
