I don't know why everyone is moaning about how this place is so remote. That is the point. Whenever we go to Bali we try and stay at a few places -first off Kuta/Seminyak/Legian for a week for the action/shopping hustle and bustle. Then usually a quiet place far away from tourists/noise etc. When I saw a picture of Waka... more

This hotel is a nightmare and please don't make the mistake we did without reading some of these reviews. The hotel is out in the middle of nowhere...really..its a 20 minute car trip to the nearest town of Tababan...Seminyak is an hour away. The hotel is tired and a bit run down and has one very ordinary restuarant. The Air... more

We stayed at the Waka Gangga 3 years ago loved it, but were almost put off on our return trip by the negative reviews on tripadvisor. We booked anyway and were not disappointed. The service was good, the property remains in great condition, and overall the hotel is a wonderful getaway from the more touristed bits of Bali. It is... more

My girlfriend and I had a very pleasant 3 nights at the Waka Gangga. I agree that if you could only go to Bali once and stay at only one hotel, it shouldn't be the Waka Gangga. It is out of the way and too much driving would be involved to see everything else Bali has to offer. We went... more

If this is your ‘once in a lifetime’ trip to Bali, and you’re only picking one place to stay the whole time, avoid the Waka Gangga. You’ll regret it. Pick a place that has many good reviews from TripAdvisor users and you’ll be happy. Summary: I think all of my issues\complaints, which are about to follow, can be traced to... more

The Waka Gangga is beautifully located in a cluster of rice paddies above the ocean. Very remote from any kind of activity and with nothing to distract from the beautiful scenery, which is just what we wanted. The stay was very enjoyable and the staff genuinely friendly. However, the hotel is obviously suffering from somewhat apathetic management, which is sad... more

We knew that the Waka Gangga was in a secluded area, but I guess we weren't quite prepared for how really remote it is! If you do not have your own transport, the hotel receptionist will tell you that it takes 45minutes for the taxi service to arrive at the hotel, and a trip to the Kuta area will take... more

I came here on my honeymoon back in august 2004. We loved the place. Each villa is surrounded by sloping rice terraces which fringe a sparkling black sand beach on the edge of the Indian Ocean. The place is what My Husband said "The perfect place to find serenity". It's just amazing to see the rice terrace standing side by... more

The location is perfect if you like to be in an isolated, luxury and non touristy spot, with on one side the sea and on the other side the ricefields. The local people use the beach in their own way, riding motorcycles, having a snack, taking a walk and standing in the sea. The bungalows were really nice, especially the... more

We began our honeymoon in Bali at this very romantic secluded spot. We were one of only a few people at the hotel and we felt that the whole complex was ours. The site is beautiful from every direction and it is hard to do anything but take a bath or shower in the gorgeous garden bathrooms, look at the... more
