Impressions From a 10-day all-inclusive stay in Nov 2009 in the Blue Lagoon (BL) It's a 10-hour flight direct from Heathrow to Male. SriLankan Airways are very good, good service, free wine/beer, not enough water. Buy bottled water at the duty-free (90p/litre). Your bags will be x-rayed on the way into the country, in Male customs, looking for alcohol, which... more

What a disappointing experience. The Hotel clearly wasnt ready for guests (and they admitted it when we complained for the 9th time in 7days!) When the hotel is finished we expect the island will be a great place for people to visit (if a little impersonal) - but for us poor unfortunates who spent our money to go at this... more

FLIGHTS: We travelled to Kuramathi by Emirates, via Dubai into Male, but Duty free in Dubai was excellent. Not too bad if you can have a quick transfer in Dubai, otherwise it's going to take longer than BA direct or a charter. TRANSFER TO ISLAND: Transfer - we opted for the seaplane which means collect bags at Male, then handover... more

My boyfriend and I arrived home from Kuramathi Blue Lagoon last week. We had a wonderful, relaxing time with amazing weather and nothing to worry about apart from what book to read next. For those of you travelling to Kuramathi in the near future, I would like to pass on the following wisdom plus positives & negatives.... Wisdom: Do take... more

On the whole a fantastic resort. If possible travel there by seaplane as the views are worth the extra money alone, plus the 1hour and 20 mins of nothing to see but sea and being buffeted by the wind you get with the boat don't come even close. Most of the staff are very good and chatty and always have... more

Its a while since our visit, so I'll stick to a couple of quick facts that might help you if you're doing some preliminary holiday research: Kuramathi is not billed as a top Maldives resort, but it has a lot going for it. While the Village part of the resort has simple accommodation and main bar/restaurant with more than a... more

Stayed here recently for our honeymoon on the first week of August 2009. We were not sure what to expect with the weather but it turned out perfect and didnt drop below 30 any day. We stayed in the Water Villas which were fantastic with a nice little area to sit outside and your own ladder into the sea for... more

Just returned from our honeymoon on this beautiful island. It truly is paradise. The beach is spectacular and the sandbank stretching out into the aqua water will take your breath away. The sunset cruise is a must. A few tips for those who plan to travel. We stayed in the water bungalows at the blue lagoon (309) which are adjoined... more

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at Kuramathi Blue Lagoon, a beautiful resort where we experienced paradise and were able to get away and forget the outside world. This resort is lush green garden bursting with amazing flora and fauna offering an ideal honeymooners retreat with the Indian Ocean lapping at the foreshore. The best part of the resort... more

Hello! We stayed at this amazing island for 8 days all inclusive and then went off to Sri Lanka. We prefered the Maldives by far, this island is larger than most but is still better than any magazine or internet site can make it seem. It was totally idylic!! Our water villa was ajoined (a little disapointed as we had... more
