A tropical island in a blue sea, with waving palms and cascades of beautiful exotic flowers. Kuramathi Island is a beautiful resort where seekers of paradise escaping the pressures and cares of the world can get away and forget the outside world. This lush green garden bursting with scented frangipanis, delicate hibiscus, bougainvillea and morning glory offers you a glimpse of the Garden of Eden. A gardener's dream and the ideal holiday retreat. Kuramathi has retained its natural beauty and is the only island resort to offer a choice of three different places to stay. It is larger than most island resorts-over one kilometre in length-and the three discreet locations each with its own unique character and charm. They are all carefully laid out and spaced so that you might never know the others existed. Wander the narrow winding paths lined with thick foliage that snake their way across the island. Gaze up into the ancient banyan tree and spy the cranes nesting in the topmost branches. Drift along sandy white beaches and dip your toes in the water to cool off on a balmy hot day, or turn to catch the cooling sea breezes. Only then might you chance upon one of the other resorts: Kuramathi Village, Cottage & Spa or Blue Lagoon. The speedboat or seaplane brings you to the main jetty of Kuramathi Village where you step ashore and leave the rest of the world behind you. Step into the main reception hall for a few minutes to rest, enjoy a cool drink and freshen up with a cold towel. From here on we'll take care of everything. more » « less

My husband and I stayed at Cottege & Spa as part of our honneymoon trip and we thought it was a beautiful place. We travelled to the resort on speed boat which took aprox 1hour 20 mins . This was fine for us as we arrived the night before and were well rested however there were others on the boat... more

From: Greece Date: August 26, 2008 Reviewer: sofibat We went to Kuramathi for honeymoon trip and stayed for 11 days, from 10-20 of August. Although it still is winter there, the weather was great: temperature between 30-32 C, with enough humidity, to be honest. Traveling with Emirates was pleasant. Also a good choice is to prefer a sea plane that... more

Myself and my other half stayed at the cottage and spa for 7 days in May this year. We stayed in a deluxe bungalow which was fantastic, it was very clean and modern although there was no tv! Our room boy Mohammed was brilliant he cleaned our room once a day and gave us clean towels twice every day without... more

We visited Kuramathi Cottage & Spa for 6 days (24th-29th of July 2008). Since we travelled from Greece we found the trip quite big and wearisome (12 hours long) but when we arrived at Kuramathi we forgot how tired we were :-) Suggestions: 1. Travel by AIR TAXI only 20 minutes far(speed boat is not recommended as it might take... more

This was our fifth trip to the Maldives. We always go to different islands. Kuramathi was good by comparision to other islands we have visited (Laguna, Bandos, Meeru and Villamendoo). It is a large island but that gives visitors a huge choice of bars and restaurants which is what we were seeking. We always book b&b because we think that... more

On August 2003 we had our honeymoon in the perfect Kuramathi Cottage. The trip to reach was quite hard: the ship trip from Male is long and if you find bad sea conditions... it's hard for the stomac! Once arrived we found everything great. The beach, the water, the diving experience, the romantic dinner for 2 on the beach arranged... more

I am madly in love with Kuramathi and I can't wait to go back. We stayed there in April 2004 and March 2006 - the nice thing was that the staff remembered us! The accommodation we stayed in was a water bungalow. Very nice too. Very soothing to go to sleep listening to the water sloshing around the hut. The... more

Just back from 1 week B&B in a Cottage Spa water villa - second time in the Maldives and overall the experience was even better than when we stayed at Full Moon. We were very lucky to have no rain until the last evening when the heavens opened and the rain was torrential throughout the night. We took the sea... more

Having just returned from ! week in a water bungalow we feel we must share our experience with you. The water bungalow was perfect as was the location, unfortunately the reef was far to rough to enjoy snorkelling, how ever we did manage to some very beautiful fish, sharks and a giant moray eel. The down side of the trip... more

Just been to Kurathmathi 5-12th May. First trip to the maldives and it exceeded our expectations. We stayed in a water bungalow and it was very charming, very clean-lovely big bed-adequete bathroom and the most amazing views-steps to the water you could just sit and watch the fish. You must snorkel or dive or you will miss out on the... more
