Every single employee we encountered here was friendly and helpful. The wait staff and bar staff at Growlers were, to a person, exceptional. Front desk staff were very helpful and genuinely nice. 1 night stopover. Nice treat for a few bucks more after staying at Super 8's, Microtel's etc. Front desk mgr (Gillian, Jillian?? forgive the spelling if you're reading this) upgraded me to the "executive floor" with complimentary breakfast. I had heard that the Crowne Plaza in Madison was newly redone. On the outside it seemed OK, but we got to our room and there was peeling wallpaper. The worst part is that the walls are paper thin. The Crown Plaza is my home away from home the Staff at the front desk always make me feel welcome and always make sure that the room I request is available the Bar area is great for watching a ballgame and relaxing and the food and service is excellent more

Check out this beautiful hotel........Even in these economic times, someone cared enough to do a facelift on this hotel......The Stone work, the new Growler's Lounge, Starbuck's....Killer Service......This is the hotel to stay at in Madison....Simply AWESOME!! more

Wow, what a change...it's been about a year since I've been to Madison and I then stayed at the Crowne Plaza as well. They have really turned this hotel around! I stayed here on business in January, 2008. As other reviewers have pointed out, the hotel is under construction. There were some pretty major renovations happening in the lobby, but that'll be over soon (and, from the looks of it, the lobby needed it).
