The view and location are the only only two excellent characteristics of the hotel that I experienced. For the price I thought the hotel was out of date, beds uncomfortable, loud, and rooms dingy. The volume on the television would not allow to be turned up or down. The parking is free, it is within walking distance to State Street.... More

The Edgewater Hotel sits right on one the two sister lakes in Madison. The location is oustanding if visiting the UW campus or the Capital. It is walking distance to both the campus and the capital as well as the night life, great resturants and State Street (which is the place to be if in Madison). The hotel has a... More

Brilliant location. Excellent service. Breakfasts were awesome. We especially liked the fruit! The bar & live music also good. It seemed to be a little bit like time stood still, but I liked it. The reception were very friendly as we arrived without our cases which were left at Chicago airport - not uncommon apparently!! My first visit to Madison.... More

Spent an evening at Edgewater for my cousins wedding. One thing is certain, a great view from the bar and dining area makes this a nice place to go regardless if one is spending the night! The room was decent, although the emphasis of this location is just that....LOCATION! SInce it was summer, we were in walking distance of everything,... More

Thanksgiving evening. This was our second stay at the Edgewater. My husband relies on a walker to get around and we like to stay here because of the ease of getting from the parking garage to the room. There is an enclosed parking structure adjacent to the entry way. The end parking spots are designated for "handicapped parking." Then it... More

Thank you for your nice comments on the hotel. We do have several rooms with accommodations for wheelchair access including bathrooms. I am sorry we gave you some misinformation regarding this at our desk. Please do not hesitate to call me personally next time we have the pleasure of serving you. Sincerely, Scott Faulkner General Manager More

The $ 38.95 Thanksgiving Buffet at the Edgewater hotel in Madison brought back many childhood memories – of frozen pot pies, canned vegetables and chemical whipped topping to name a few. We had a 4:00 seating – but from the looks of the buffet you would have thought we had arrived an hour after closing. Some bins were empty, many... More

If you were any closer you would be IN the lake. Great location and views. We walked to the farmers market. Great location to enjoy the city of Madison. Watched UW crew practice each morning and afternoon. Could hear the water lapping the shore. More

I stayed in the Edgewater Hotel in Madison, Wisconsin on Tuesday 9 November 2011. It is a famous hotel near the Capitol Building. Staff was fine. Terrific restaurant although way too pricy IMO. But this is what ruined the trip: the bathtub didn't drain. I used the shower Tuesday nite and soon noticed that I was ankle deep in water.... More

We are sorry you encountered this issue with the Tub not draining. Our staff closed the drain stopper lever after cleaning the room and unfortunately there were no directions on how to open the tub drain stopper. Our staff inspected the room after departure and opened the drain lever and the tub drained as normal. We hope to have a... More

I ended up in Madison a bit by accident and found a good rate at th Edgewater. The hotel sent a van to pick me up and also drove me back the next day at no cost. I had a room that overlooked the lake. The name of the hotel doesn't lie - it's really on the edge of the... More
