My wife and I had an incredibly romantic celebration of our 28th wedding anniversary at the Mansion Hill Inn. We had some friends join us in the cozy bar and parlor for drinks and dinner, and it felt like we were hosting a private party in our own estate, complete with our personal serving staff. The cheerful hosts helped order... more

This is a true treasure of a hotel and the recent rennovations turn it into nothing short of a Hilton/ Sheraton. Beige... no character and such interesting nooks and hidden bookcases are all gone. This modern update is everything I feared. This gem of a hotel has been stripped of its' character. A sad day indeed. i will not return. more

I started staying at Mansion Hill Inn in 2006 when I traveled to Madison for business. All the rooms were different and had so much antique charm. They used to have minibars, dvd players, complimentary wine in parlor and the best was the giant jacuzzi tubs in almost all the rooms. The place was a total showstopper. It was my... more

I stayed at Mansion Hill Inn for the first time in April 2007. I found it online when looking for a getaway spot with my boyfriend, and I was captivated by the way each room had its own history and personality. I returned at least 8 times through Feb. 2008 when I was told they were closing soon for renovations.... more

I had never visited Madison until a trip there recently and after staying at the Mansion Hill Inn I left with a very positive impression. This superbly restored building has a unique blend of period sophistication and craftsmanship while also managing to discreetly include every modern convenience of a 5+ star hotel. My room was spacious and very comfortable incorporating... more

I was lucky enough to be one of the first guests at the Mansion Hill Inn following its recent renovation and re-launch and all I can say is WOW! Having stayed in hotels across the world on business and pleasure this is the first time that I wanted to leave a review at TripAdvisor. The building itself is magnificent with... more

Tried unsuccessfully to book this hotel by web and phone, based on recommendations in Fodors guide and in TripAdvisor. On our visit to Madison we checked it out to see what the problem was. It has been turned into rental apartments. Don't believe the web site. more

Mansion Hill Inn is a historic inn located in downtown Madison and open to the public. Currently, it is closed for renovations. However, we are greatly anticipating re-opening early 2009. Please think of us for your future travels!

I have stayed at the Mansion Hill Inn several times over the years. The last being this January for my aniversary with my husband. We like to stay there whenever we come to Madison. The rooms are wonderfully historic but have all the convenience and privacy of a hotel. All are beautifully restored and have their own baths with whirlpool... more

I am really quite baffled by the bad reviews. I am in the hospitality industry at a ski resort in Vail, CO This is a quaint, historic, peaceful, pleasant, relaxing place to stay the breakfast though limited is very pleasant - the waffles came with everything on a silver tray with french press fresh coffee - and it was on time... more

My husband & I stayed in the Carrie Pierce Room. The room was large and really lovely - a nice spot for a romantic evening (especially with that 2-person hot tub in the very spacious bathroom). The shower is not very nice though - the water temp fluctuated and the showerhead kept moving around - and the bathroom door had... more
