We just got back from NO last weekend. We stayed in the Suite royale. Warning, it is not a 2 bedroom suite, it's technically a one bedroom with a big bed in the living room and there is also a pull out couch so you could sleep 6 in there. The room is gorgeous, the beds so comfortable, that was... more

I stayed in the Deco Delite for JazzFest weekend. It was visibly clean, but I did find a dead roach in the corner by the door. The room was just off the street and people tend to sit on the doorstep in front of the room while having a good time at the bar. The party usually goes all night... more

I was in New Orleans for business around 1999. All the hotels were booked. I remembered the R Bar from the Spin Magazine Guide to Underground Travel. I called and booked a room. That was it - whenever I'm in New Orleans, this is where I stay. I've slept in all the rooms except the Ghost suite. If you travel... more

Sorry it took so long to write this! We stayed for 4 nights for our Honeymoon getaway, and were in the Suite Royale, which was HUGE. The air worked great (important), and there was an extra half bath to go with the big bath with the wonderful tub. The big bed was very comfortable. The full kitchen was nice, too.... more

I have been to the Royal Street in on many occassions. Of course, the best room is the "Suite Royale". Talk about gorgeous! Wood floors, private balcony, 2 beds, full kitchen, 2 baths, I could go on and on. The rest of the rooms have such great character. Just a couple more trips and I will have stayed in all... more

When I was searching for a place in the French Quarter to stay for a few nights I came across the Royal Street Inn and R-Bar here on trip advisor and I thought the first moment: Yes, that's THE place to stay: A bar with rooms for the night. And I wasn't disappointed! The rooms are clean and nicely decorated... more

My favorite place to stay in New Orleans if you want to feel like a local. It is a great location near the jazz bars and good eats of Frenchman Street and perfect for avoiding the commercialism of Bourban St. The shopping nearby is great for the art collector all along Royal St. and the French Market only a few... more

For the past four years have spent an extended weekend at the R-Bar & will be doing it again in Spring 2004. Staff very friendly, price is right, very clean, very N'Awlins, very convenient to Vieux Carre. Walk to streetcar gets you to many places. Don't need a car. Bar is different, great people watching. The two free drinks every... more

I booked a suite here for three of my freinds and I for a weekend of "N'awlins Debauchery". We did not want to stay in a generic high-rise hotel, so we researched bed and breakfasts, but too many of them seemed a little stuffy. Then a freind of mine told me about this funky offbeat "Bed and Beverage" called the... more

I have not been to a better inn. It's one block from Bourbon Street, yet it's still affordable ($75-130). Best of all, instead of a s**** (I mean complimentary) continental breakfast, you get a couple of free drinks. The rooms are clean, and the staff is friendly. Plus, the jukebox is awesome. more
