If you appreciate beautiful interiors with gorgeous fabrics and exceptional antiques, the Soniat is your only hotel in New Orleans. It is like stepping into an elegant old French Quarter home. Located in a quiet, beautiful area of the Quarter with gorgeous balconies and courtyards. Nothing cookie-cutter here, it is certainly not for the loud party groups. Once you step... More

Excellent service 24 hours a day. Very nice room although the carpet and bathroom could use refreshing. The inn cat is very friendly and the computer and internet provided for guest use was very handy. We were surprised that breakfast was not included in the room price but we were pleased that it was available. More

My husband and I were recently married in the grand suite (rm 60) and it was absolutely perfect!! The staff was very helpful and the room was simply beautiful. Only regret is that we didn't book the room for an extra night! More

My wife and I stayed here in early December of 2011. We found the place to be quintessential New Orleans. I see seen reviewers indicating the place is shabby, etc. If you are looking for a crisp, sparkling, "no-flaws" type place...stay at the Ritz Carlton...do not stay here. But if you have been to New Orleans enough to know how... More

I went there with my girlfriend in July and I must say the experience was incredible. We stayed for 3 nights in a Junior suite - a very quiet and private room on a beautiful courtyard. The service is outstanding and the location is perfect, quiet yet in the heart of the French Quarter. The breakfast was a little bit... More

This hotel describes itself as "a small historic luxury boutique hotel " when in reality It is a shabby, tired, threadbare property. There is a difference between authentic and authentic with luxury amenities. This is a quirky, historic (dated), tired, tattered property. Though the location is good and the service is ok, the dilapidated state of many of the rooms... More

We just completed a stay at Soniat House over Halloween Weekend in New Orleans. Located on the edge of the French Quarter, Soniat House provided an oasis of calm and quiet at the center of the busiest area in the city. Our suite reflected the Historic Landmark designation - filled with period furniture and lighting with a nod to modern... More

Just got back from an idyllic 5-night stay at the Soniat House. Completely engaging, filled with New Orleans character and charm. As everyone else has said, it is located on the lovely Chartres Street, enough removed from the hustle and bustle of Bourbon Street that it is completely quiet; but only a 10-minute stroll to all the action. Our room... More

Spent two nights at this charming French Quarter inn. Located toward eastern edge of the quarter, about 4 blocks from Jackson Square. A rather small but well preserved old building with beautiful enclosed court yard. Very attentive staff who seemed to want to cater to your every whim. Quiet and restful surroundings. More

We'd stayed at Soniat House before, but for this weekend trip for my husband's birthday, we decided to upgrade to a suite, and it was definitely worth it. I felt like we were being led into our own New Orleans apartment as we were let into our room. The furnishings were lovely and fit the period of this historic location.... More
