Highlights: traditional architecture and excellent service. Low point: noise from loud music nearby. The buildings have a real old New Orleans feel: tall windows, a courtyard, a pool (sort of like a fountain) in the middle of the courtyard. Lovely. As for service, we don't usually make a lot of requests, but for some reason we had several unusual needs... More

My wife and daughter visited New Orleans from December 23rd to December 26th. We stayed at the Frenchmen inn. It was my wife and my 4th time staying at Frenchmen inn, our first with our young daughter. In the past we have stayed in smaller rooms and only used the hotel to sleep and refresh ourselves, as we spent most... More

Thank you for your feedback on the one-bedroom queen suite. I have recently received another complaint about the pullout sofa mattress and am in the process of finding a replacement futon. I'm sorry the 8 foot Mardi-Gras-themed Christmas tree was not decorative enough for your family's standards. We simply cannot compete with some of the large hotels that are famous... More

OK, so you want a hotel room for a few nights and the Frenchmen sounds good, here's a checklist for you, just so you know what to expect: 1 Are you over 5ft 9inches? If your answer is yes, you're screwed. The beds in these place are designed for leprechauns and other vertically challenged folk. Quite simply the smallest bed... More

1. Our mattresses are standard double (54in × 75in), queen (60in × 80in) and king (76in × 80in) sizes. 2. Guest safety is of the utmost importance. As we are located on the bustling Frenchmen Street, it is crucial that we have outdoor lighting. 3. The mattress pads are a mandatory requirement from the Department of Health. 4. Our hot... More

My wife an I booked this place based on a quick check on Tripadvisor, for a lay over on our way home from Texas. based on the overwhelming good reviews, and the fact that we wanted to stay close to Frenchmen St., we booked this hotel. Upon our arrival, it was obvious that what they show on their web page... More

I am sorry you had such an poor experience. Based on your overwhelmingly negative review on every aspect of the hotel, I would suggest you book at a chain hotel in the Central Business District if you decide to visit New Orleans in the future. Clearly our unique, boutique bed and breakfast is not a good fit for you and... More

Booked on bookitdotcom and got free parking but be careful as there are only 7 spaces so it's limited. Rooms are soooo cute. If you are a light sleeper though don't get a room close to the street as jazz plays till the wee hours of the morning just footsteps away. Walking distance to everything. Safe. Can't go wrong. More

Can't beat it for the price. Excellent location, friendly staff (special thanks Jessica!), and all around great service in general. It is a true New Orleans experience, so if being just a number in a generic highrise hotel is your "comfort zone" then book a room at one of the corporate hotels on Canal Street. I am afraid that the... More

The Frenchman is a fun and eccentric spot in a super fun part of New Orleans. While there we had some of the most amazing meals all within a few blocks from the hotel. Our carriage tour guide said Frenchman st is where the locals like to hang out and I can see why. Tons of great Jazz bars and... More

So my stay at this hotel was actually great! My husband and I stayed here along with another couple. Our friends were in the room next door. The staff was very accomodating when there was a mix up with our room, and the location was ideal for our trip. BUT, when I got home I discovered that I had a... More

We take every precaution to avoid the occurrence as reported by utilizing specialized commercial mattress pads and scheduling a monthly professional service to check for bedbugs. Upon investigation, there are no signs of bedbugs but have scheduled and treated the rooms an extra time this past month all the same. We would love the opportunity to make it up to... More

I stayed at the Frenchmen in September, based on a recommendation from a friend. I love the area around the Marigny--great music clubs and bars, and without the 24 hour madness of Bourbon Street. Of course Bourbon Street is a quick and safe 10 minute walk. The hotel is old, funky, and the staff very friendly and helpful. The room... More

I wrote a review of The Frenchman in October of last year and we were there again on October 13th. Last year, a group of 6 stayed two nights prior to our cruise, this year, a group of 5 stayed one night after the cruise. We're all on a pretty tight vacation budget so I was looking for value. We... We are proud to say our hot tub is currently at a piping 100 degrees Fahrenheit and apologize for the "cold tub" during your last stay. We are also happy to state we replaced the sofabed pull-out in one of our Queen Loft Suites with a brand new futon. So, when you book for next year, mention that you would... More
