We stayed in the Enchanted Cottage and it was so quaint, a perfect place to stay while we adventured out in the french quarter and frenchmen street. Ruth, who has owned the mansion since the early 1980s was incredibly accommodating and friendly. She really went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable and start a friendship that would... More

My wife and I spent Christmas in New Orleans and stayed at the Lanaux Mansion in the Enchanted Cottage. The architecture of the mansion is fantastic, it is a stately and elegant home with high ceilings, beautiful woodwork and lots of warmth. The Enchanted Cottage is a real charmer. Re-purposed into living quarters from its original use for storage, it... More

This was our second stay at the Lanaux Mansion, just outside the French Quarter and two short blocks from Frenchmen Street. We''ll come back. The location is ideal, if you don't mind walking (and only a couple of blocks up from the Riverfront streetcar), but it's the ambiance and attention to detail in the room, coupled with the price, that... Situated near the southeast corner of New Orlean's famed French Quarter, Lanaux Mansion offers beautiful accommodations in Victorian style. Stay in the Enchanted Cottage if it's available--or in the Library in the main house. Enjoy continental breakfast items, delivered to your room daily, then walk the 4 blocks or so to the center of the French Quarter! Hostess Ruth Bodenheimer... More

My wife and I chose this bed & breakfast because of its location to the French Quarters, the historic appearence and of course the magic of movies. What we discovered was a place still preserved in the past. The Lanaux Mansion offers its guest a piece of New Orleans history in each of the rooms offered. We stayed in the... More

A friend and I went to New Orleans for a girls weekend away and had a great stay at this place. We stayed in the Weiland room which used to be the home's kitchen way back when. It was very comfy with a private bathroom and mini kitchen with a fridge and microwave. They provide pastries, cereal and yogurt, which... More

While on a roaming vacation we decided to head down to New Orleans for a couple of days. So I combed the Internet as we drove south and stumbled upon the Lanaux Mansion. After three hours of combing sites like Travelocity, trip advisor, and bedandbreakfast.com and reviewing photographs, features, and reviews of countless French quarter hotels and inns we collaboratively concluded... First, it's important to applaud Ruth who owns and runs the B&B. She's a truly great host who strives to ensure that no detail is overlooked. The room was clean, well-decorated with antiques, and cozy (albeit a bit dark). The location is excellent---in the French Quarter but at the edge so it's away from the craziness of revelers. Ruth made... More

Location, beauty, hospitality, history... Lanaux Mansion was this and so much more. Ruth has lovingly restored this historical home and creates an environment of serenity, peace, and beauty, which my husband and I enjoyed even more than the short walks to world class restaurants and French Quarter history. We walked short distances to hear jazz in clubs at night too.... More
