If you are looking for sleek new modern rooms this is not the place for you! If you want "old New Orleans" charm this is a great place to sty. The room was extremely clean. The lobby has a funcky smell (probably old smoke) but the room had no smell. We had a suite that was huge by todays hotel... more

This was my second stay in Le Richelieu - the first being in 2001 when I was a young girl travelling with her father. I decided to try it again with my boyfriend for our romantic vacation to New Orleans. We were not disappointed! Reservations and Check in: We reserved the hotel room online on the hotel's web site. Take... more

This is our favorite hotel in NO. It's comfortable, quiet, convenient, super-clean, and has free parking. The rates are reasonable, the staff is friendly and helpful, the food is good, and the drinks are generous. What more could one want? If you're looking for luxury, look elsewhere. If it bothers you that the bathrooms are dated, that the faucet might... more

We stayed at Le Richelieu for a long weekend with friends in May 2009. We are childless couples in our mid-thirties. While it's true that some updating could be done, the hotel has great charm which makes up for that. The location can't be beat- close enough to walk to everything within the French Quarter, the Riverwalk, Cafe Du Monde,... more

This was our first time in New Orleans and we were fairly happy with Le Richelieu. It’s on the quiet side of the French Quarter – this is a plus! – and a 5-10 minute stroll to Jackson Square. Bourbon Street, with all its bars and noise is a short walk away too, but Le Richelieu is thankfully quiet. Our... more

We stayed for 3 nights in this great hotel. Our room 211 was exceptionally clean. The mattress was in good condition and very comfortable. The furnishings were very nice and the ceiling fan was a welcome addition not normally found in a hotel. The bathroom has not been updated as stated in other reviews but it was a large full... more

Just got back from a four night girls trip at Le Richelieu and it was fantastic. I will start out by saying that I am from NYC and am picky and sometimes high maintenance :) but for my first trip to NOLA I didn't want to stay at a cookie cutter luxury hotel (apologies to the W and both Omnis),... more

Beautiful lobby, great location, HORRIBLE rooms! They're clean but a little dated. The mattress is thin and slopes in the middle. The TV has comes complete with wood paneling. The walls are mirrored and the bathroom looks like something from your grandmother's house. more

I did a lot of research before booking this hotel. I was a little wary because I had read some bad reviews but we would stay here again. Yes it's an old hotel to be sure so if you want a slick modern hotel this is not for you. They still use a real key...which is probably why you have... more

This was our first visit to New Orleans and we were happy to stay at such a quaint hotel. We were driving, and after seeing the lack of parking anywhere in the French Quarter, it was a pleasure to be able to pull right into their private parking lot. The staff was very nice, helping us decided where to have... more
