This was our first visit to New Orleans and we were happy to stay at such a quaint hotel. We were driving, and after seeing the lack of parking anywhere in the French Quarter, it was a pleasure to be able to pull right into their private parking lot. The staff was very nice, helping us decided where to have... more

On my return trip to Le Richelieu, I was happy to see that it was much as I remembered from 20 years ago. I love the flickering gas lanterns, mounted on brick-colored courtyard walls which light the garden setting. You may lounge poolside in the sun or breakfast at cafe tables inside or out. Our 3rd floor room (306) with... more

Loved the "feel" of this older hotel and the quiet location. We did not have a car but I understand the parking is included. The AC did not work in the room but it was cold so was not a problem on this trip. Will book again but will ask about the AC. Great breakfast and lunch room on site. more

We recently stayed the the Richelieu during Mardi Gras week. It has always been our favorite place to stay in the French Quarter until this time. Evidently it is under new management because neither the grounds nor the rooms are as well kept and the service is AWFUL. The first day we checked in and went to bed early, around... more

We visited New Orleans right before Mardi Gras, and stayed at Le Richelieu for 3 nights. It's about a 5 minute walk from the center of the French Quarter, in a nice and quiet little spot--a great location. However, our room was pretty small and definitely showed signs of wear and tear. It was clean, so that was a plus.... more

I keep it short and sweet. This hotel is nicely tucked into a quiet area of the quarter. It is right down the street from many places to eat and also a great cafe for coffee and breakfast. The rooms were older but you would expect that from a historic inn. Staff was friendly and the place was quiet. Other... more

My husband and I got married in Jackson Square on Memorial Day weekend. I had stayed at Le Richelieu before and loved it. We reserved a block of rooms for our wedding guests- about 15 rooms. From the moment we arrived on Thursday until we left on Monday, the staff couldn't have been more accomodating to us and our guests.... more

We tried to book directly but had to book a minimum of 3 nights so booked 2 nights through Expedia. The location of this hotel is excellent just far enough from Bourbon Street to be quiet at night though within easy walking distance and the walk back at night did not feel threatening. This is a very quaint and traditional... more

After seeing several positive reviews on this hotel, we tried it for 2 nights during our 5 days in New Orleans. We stayed at Royal Sonesta and Hotel Monteleone a night each and also Le Richelieu (wanted to drive to Biloxi for a day and therefore got a rental and because of free parking at this hotel, thought it would... more

My brother and sister-in-law joined my wife and me on a visit to NOLA and the French Quarter. After reading the hotel reviews, we chose "Le Richelieu". The hotel is in the "Quarter", but far enough away from the Bourbon St. activities to allow privacy and quiet. Although an old hotel, it is well maintained. One day our bathtub stopper... more
