Great area to stay - just outside French District. About 15 minutes walk at a casual pace, and lots to enjoy along the way. Everyone seems to be sensitive to crime in New Orleans and we were initially concerned about the area, but it was very safe. All of New Orleans is worried to some degree about crime right now,... more

Thanks Carl for a wonderfull experience. On my travels I like to see, smell and feel the place. So I walk eveywhere and interact with as many locals as I can. So being in a B&B with a local as a hosty was a joy to behold. The information on food, sight, trips and how to be safe was invaluable.... more

Wonderful location in the Faubourg Marigny, an easy ten-minute walk from the French Quarter. The building is a restored 1890s Victorian with all the charm and quirks of old houses. The rooms are comfortable and clean, but the furnishings and appointments are nothing fancy; it's more like staying with an old friend or with family than at a hotel. (For... more

The location actually suited us as we travelled with a baby - its a quiet neighbourhood about 10 min from the french quarter. The room was nice and clean, there were common areas - living room, kitchen, yard. There is a computer available. Everything has been taken into considerasion. Only one disagreeable thing springs to mind - with a 10... more

My partner and I appreciated staying in a small, local place and Carl was so kind to point us to great things to do, where to go, and where not to go. The patio was nice, and I enjoyed taking dips in the hot tub. We liked that we got to see the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood, and walking to the... more

We stayed at Carls place as part of our 1st.trip to America, and had a great time. A very hospitable host, with a wealth of information about his home city, the Burgundy helped us to have wonderul memories about New Orleans. We were able to explore the French Quarter on foot and using the local tram. Fantastic, music everywhere, local... more

I walked by the Burgundy B&B a few years ago and was struck by how cool and authentic it looked...I'm glad I finally had a chance to stay there for a few nights. It was a great location for me - quiet neighborhood with several local bars nearby, and a not-too-far leisurely walk to the middle of the French Quarter.... more

This beautiful house is located within a colorful neighborhood of gorgeous historical houses within walking distance of the French Quarter. The simple breakfast is delicious and perfect after the heavy drinking and eating of New Orleans. This B&B's host can provide travelers with a wealth of knowledge including restaurant recommendations, walking routes and possible activities. For the location and price... more

This is really a gem of a B&B. The house is beautiful and the owner, Carl, is a lovely guy who is very welcoming and happy to help in any way. The rooms are well appointed and the beds are VERY comfy! There is wireless internet and even a computer for those who don't have laptops. There are also two... more
